That interview was a complete disaster for him. I am waiting to hear when the National Portrait Gallery might take that photograph of him and Emily Maitliss into their collection. Last I read it had gone through the committee to recommend it be accepted but they were waiting for a new Chief Curator or whatever the title is before a final decision. I hope they do - I think it's quite an iconic image.

I don’t remember any shock waves . In fact a lot of people ( myself included) didn’t realise she isn’t white.

The UK public was so shocked that the tabloids had to bring out special souvenir editions of the engagement, country of racists.
