Following on from this glorious thread

I don't think it's D&V. Much as the chat is amusing (and I have a poo obsessed five year old, sad to read on the previous thread they don't grow out of it by seven 🤦‍♀️) I think it it were D&V, then the statement would have been "minor illness" or "seasonal illness".

Maybe he was hungover?!

I don't think that was mentioned in the previous thread.
Bottoms up😉

xcski · 28/02/2024 09:51

Perhaps death threats against William were received relating to his statement on the Gaza conflict so he had to be pulled out at short notice for security reasons.

cathyandclaire · 28/02/2024 09:52

I understand that Catherine is recovering, but I'd expect her to be functioning well 6 weeks after abdominal surgery- even serious surgery. For context, my 85 year old father was up, driving and out and about at this stage after a partial colectomy and stoma creation for cancer despite a cardiac event and several post op complications.

So, even if she’s not up for public events, she should be able to deal with a health problem with the kids.

MaggieFS · 28/02/2024 09:54

Yessss, actually Kate's fine and just cba any longer, Wills thought fuck it, so they had a secret Monday night bender and then he was to hungover to string a sentence together so bailed.

Or that may be what gave him the dodgy innards.

I was wondering that. Some sort of credible security threat. (Not necessarily due to gaza)

Dance54 · 28/02/2024 09:59

The condition of the Princess of Wales is likely much more serious than acknowledged by KP. Two weeks in hospital after surgery for someone young and fit, that does not include treatment for the big C, is unfortunately likely for something very severe.

If it was a security threat he wouldn’t be driven out of Windsor, which is presumably secure and has safe areas.

The palace PR seems shaky, but if it was a seasonal illness presumably they would say to avoid speculation.

That's so plausible a protest turning up at the church would have been awful.

beguilingeyes · 28/02/2024 10:03

Hasn't someone in the family died suddenly?

EsmaCannonball · 28/02/2024 10:04

Unless Pippa Middleton is exactly like her character on The Windsors, I can't imagine her, in tabloid parlance, frolicking in a bikini while Kate is at death's door.

EchoChamber · 28/02/2024 10:06

It’s possible Kate’s health took a sudden turn for the worst but the PR people didn’t know.

Dance54 · 28/02/2024 10:07

The holiday pictures were last week/half term. Hopefully recovery going well, but it isn’t guaranteed to be linear. There may be many issues, including infection, results and pain management.

We don't actually know she's 'fit and healthy ' though, all we see is 5 mins on the telly of her done up to the nines with a big smile on her face, could be all sorts going on health wise. We presume she's fit and healthy as she's thin, might be the complete opposite.

omega4ever · 28/02/2024 10:09

Anyone know what William is supposed to be doing today? No idea if Royal diaries are available for future events?

EsmaCannonball · 28/02/2024 10:09

And as was said on the previous thread, the husband of his cousin was found dead on Sunday so that theory doesn't make sense.

I think a pro-Israeli protest at a private memorial ceremony is unlikely, especially given security at the location, and pulling out at the last minute would be too late to forestall any protesters.

Isn't she very sporty and active? that seems to suggest fit and healthy.

Is she? That's the narrative but how would anyone know unless they knew her personally. Again, all we see is her brandishing a tennis racket around every now and again for five minutes for a charity sports event.

The memorial service was packed with royals including the current King and Queen of Spain. They wouldn't just leave them all in a threat situation. I think it was an immediate child crisis situation that needed a parent.

I'd wondered this too.
Everything is really heightened around that situation & I was surprised he'd made even the statement he did (rightly so, imo, but I was still surprised as it could make him even more of a 'target' than he usually is).
If he was advised by MI5 (or whoever it is!) to pull out he'd HAVE to, surely?

That's so plausible a protest turning up at the church would have been awful.

It was St Georges Windsor, so I think the chances of demonstrators getting anywhere near is remote.

And it was safe enough for the Queen and many other adult members of the British royal family, European royals, aristocrats and other VIPs.

Plus the Waleses live in the grounds, so he didn't have to go into public to get there.

(I agree that saying "minor seasonal illness" might have been better wording if illness is the cause).

nirad · 28/02/2024 11:11

everyone saying she's young and fit, attributing it to her being slim: slimness, particularly low body fat, can hamper recovery and cause issues in convalescence.
