He's said it looked like fun!

He works so hard he must've prepped for months studying his lines etc.

The actresses certainly didn't work half as hard as he does and we're simply having fun telling such a traumatic story.

His hard working staff will be round shortly to put right any misconceptions.

I like your username, it makes me picture a scowling fruit and bird simultaneously 😆

Heh, that's why I chose it. That, and because I'm a grouchy Kiwi.

Slightly off tangent but Israel have responded to William’s comments

‘Israel has responded to a rare intervention by the Prince of Wales in which he said "too many have been killed" in the conflict and the fighting should end "as soon as possible".
Reacting to his statement this evening, which could be interpreted as veiled criticism, Israeli government spokesman Eylon Levy said: "Israelis of course want to see an end to the fighting as soon as possible, and that will be possible once the 134 hostages are released, and once the Hamas terror army threatening to repeat the 7 October atrocities is dismantled.
"We appreciate the Prince of Wales' call for Hamas to free the hostages.
"We also recall with gratitude his statement from 11 October condemning Hamas' terror attacks and reaffirming Israel's right of self-defence against them."’

The Chief Rabbi had also spoken and supports William's statement.

I don’t personally see it as veiled criticism. William’s statement is (rightly) very general.

What this thread proves, if nothing else, is that people who are against the RF - and W&K specifically - don't give a shit about what ACTUALLY happened and would prefer to keep repeating lies to make their points. Which is very telling, really.

It is very telling. It shows that many people in the extreme ends of either camp of the Windsor Wars don’t actually care about nuance if it will bolster their side. Here we have ostensibly someone on one side doing this with this non story - you have countless threads on the other side doing the same in other circumstances. There are many level headed people on both sides who have been tempered here and tried to keep the thread on an even keel but yet…… here we are. But look - it has driven engagement 👍

skullbabe · 20/02/2024 21:31

I think, for what it’s worth, that William’s statement was absolutely appropriate.

That's true, and I should have used a "some" in there to clarify.

I do think there's more wilful misrepresentation from one side compared with the other, but since I agree a bit more with one side I would say that, wouldn't I. Wink

Edited to fix bloody typos.

AliceOlive · 20/02/2024 21:51

And I don’t see two camps or sides at all. But that’s all I’m going to say about that.

TitusGroaned · 20/02/2024 21:52

@AliceOlive Agree. Despite the patronising and goading, this thread has actually been fairly well behaved, opinions were exchanged, some feathers were ruffled, but it’s stayed fairly civil, and there’s been humour too, and no intervention from mumsnet required😁i’m sure the Op will be pleased! 😆

Mummyoflittledragon · 20/02/2024 23:26

I would just like to say as someone, who used to act prior to becoming ill, acting is exhilarating regardless of the content. There is no better feeling in my opinion - being, living, experiencing the life of someone else whether fictitious or a real person. It can also be very draining and takes an inordinate amount of energy as actors are often asked to perform harrowing scenes. It is an important art and an integral part of society. It is difficult to appreciate how much a person gives of themselves to perform.

Had William seen the film, perhaps he would have made a different comment. However, the comment was not inappropriate in the least. Very innocuous.

AliceOlive · 21/02/2024 13:13

Thank you for sharing that @Mummyoflittledragon

Grin If Meghan had done this just imagine!!

TitusGroaned · 28/02/2024 00:54

‘ If Meghan had done this just imagine!!’

If Meghan had done what? Acted spectacularly in a critically acclaimed film and been nominated for various peer respected awards? Well if she’d be of that calibre with rare star talent, she wouldn’t have had to swap she-Ra princess of power goals for wife of Prince Humperdinck, sorry, Harry. Presumably.

But why are you bringing up Meghan anyway? She hasn’t really got anything to do with Williams’s false ‘gaffe’, totally baseless as proven by actual video footage, which seems to have been used to distract from Harry’s very real ‘gaffes’ concerning his marginalisation of a First Nations woman and his african parks controversies.

You are spot on, @TitusGroaned . I could not believe what happened in Canada.
