William Was Lying From The Start Wasn't He?

He's said it looked like fun!

He works so hard he must've prepped for months studying his lines etc.

The actresses certainly didn't work half as hard as he does and we're simply having fun telling such a traumatic story.

His hard working staff will be round shortly to put right any misconceptions.

@StormzyinaTCup it’s from The Metro I think (googled the journo).

Thank you @Serenster for putting the record straight. Sounds like William’s conduct at the event has been impeccable.

@user1477255159 you should be really embarrassed.

LimeViewer · 20/02/2024 00:15

Op, you know the rape wasn't real? It was acted in a movie.
Many things are. Murders. Aliens. Gory deaths all round.

KyleWalkersLibido · 20/02/2024 01:03

What a non event to get all worked up about.

I thought William and Catherine never get targeted by the tabloids when doing nothing wrong. Looks like that claim doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.

HollyKnight · 20/02/2024 03:06

The media are doing that thing they always do - they turn and start knocking down the people they previously built up. And people always fall for it and turn too.

They're starting on William and Kate now. We're going to see a gradual and subtle (to those not smart enough to see it) increase on negative press towards them.

WandaWonder · 20/02/2024 04:05

OMG we have caught him, doing what I have no idea but it has to be a conspiracy created by a single brain cell or 2 who met and fell in some weird love thing

CheeseSandwichRiskAssessment · 20/02/2024 04:34

It would be a poorly run film set if everyone involved was traumatised by shooting a film that had an unpleasant scene. Part of the job of the director, producers etc is to make sure everyone is comfortable and has a good experience shooting.

Newchapterbeckons · 20/02/2024 06:27

Can someone please translate I have no idea what op is babbling on about. Sounds incoherent to me 🤷🏼‍♀️

This^^

It’s a job.
If the person acting took on the true feelings of the character for more than just one scene they’d end up a mess.

onemoremile · 20/02/2024 06:44

I heard Mia McKenna-Bruce doing a number of interviews yesterday where she was saying how much fun it was to film because the director was brilliant. I know the Metro is desperate for clickbait, but this is embarrassing even by their usual Exoress level standards.

UtopiaCookbook · 19/02/2024 18:29

Surely no one assumes any royal shows up well-informed at this type of event? They just shake hands, nicely dressed, and murmur something along the lines of ‘Have you come far?’

I bet Anne is better prepared than the people hosting her at every single event she attends.

PrueRamsay · 20/02/2024 06:53

Say what now?

Are you on something OP as this is incoherent twaddle.

Oh thanks @StormzyinaTCup . I just googled the journo. So it is what the H&M supporters decry as “The Fail” huh? Bit disingenuous of the OP to cut off the source. I thought people who read that were brainwashed, royalist genuflectors to the crown.

Primrosecottagelover · 20/02/2024 06:56

off topic but gosh it’s so tiring this charade….If I were the royals, Id take the opportunity (two seniors on leave) to do a soft exit and run. Why do they even want to be royal ? Take your duchy, throw some money to the minor royals and run. They’d be free to holiday in Mustique whenever, still be wealthy & not be obligated to inform the world of their health.

Perhaps not under the current circumstances. My dh didn’t work for almost 5 months after my very large hysterectomy thank goodness. Obviously we don’t know what surgery Catherine has had, but it was apparently a lot more major than originally planned.

MrsFinkelstein · 20/02/2024 07:44

Are we believing the Mail now? My poor, feeble, forelock tugging brain isn't sure?

Thanks @Serenster for posting what actually happened.

Jakethekid · 20/02/2024 07:55

On that screenshot of the mail I noticed that the 'royals' they use in their banner are Harry Meghan and Andrew. None of them are acting royals. Surely not biased right? 🤔

Jakethekid · 20/02/2024 07:57

Oh sorry I'm wrong. It's William. I didn't open the whole image 😬

Yes, it does look that way and yes, it is somewhat disingenuous of the OP to remove all source identification.

themessygarden · 20/02/2024 08:00

It is a funny photo though, all the different facial expressions.😀

GrouchyKiwi · 20/02/2024 08:10

Serenster · 19/02/2024 22:27

The film of this whole encounter is available on twitter, should you care to look at it (fairly sure you won’t, since it shows your post is completely inaccurate).

From that you would learn firstly that William congratulates Mia McKenna-Bruce on winning the Rising Star award, and immediately says “I’m sorry I haven’t watched your film yet, but I’m sure you had a good time making it”. To which Mia immediately replies, warmly and smiling broadly “We did, we had a really, really, really good time!”.

So the actress was not remotely upset by the question, nor did she seem to find her recollection of working on the film traumatic. Nor was anyone else there concerned by the exchange - they were all also smiling broadly at Mia while she answered William. He then immediately again apologised for bring behind in his film watching.

Secondly, this harked back to a conversation he had, also on camera, when arriving at the event, and speaking with Elaine Bedell, chief executive of the Southbank Centre. William apologized for his wife's absence at this year's awards. "I'm sorry Catherine's not here. She does love the BAFTAs," he said.
"I remember last year about the films that you'd watched," Bedell replied.
"All the ones I watch, she watches with me. So we go through it carefully," William shared. He then mentioned that he’s unfortunately not had the opportunity to watch many films this year.

Manufactured outrage, in any event.

I for one am shocked, shocked I tell you, that this bastion of truth, this upholder of honesty and the Great British Way has misrepresented what happened. Surely they would never!

Thanks for correcting the narrative, Serenster.

Also: OP was riffing off the "Andrew and H&M were lying from the start" threads. But, you know, ineptly.

Serenster · 20/02/2024 08:15

themessygarden · 20/02/2024 08:00

It is a funny photo though, all the different facial expressions.😀

The moment of the photo, which has also gone viral, with delightful comments like “what racist comment did William make to cause these women to react like this?” ACTUALLY captured the moment when William said to the Rising Star nominees “Have you had any moments when you thought “This is it, I’ve done it?” And one of them immediately responded “right now!”. And they all laughed.

🙄🙄🙄

Ramalangadingdong · 20/02/2024 08:15

Imagine if Harry had made this “gaffe”!

Thanks for this. Always good to see facts countering slurs.
