Oh I think you'll find that Harry would love to be king , he has to say he doesn't because otherwise it would make his jealousy even worse!

Harry would love to be his idea of King but I can't see he would like the reality.

I think things have gone far enough. PH and MM are allowed to continue with this toxic behaviour with no consequence. KC needs to draw a line under this now and remove his CoS. I mean, what next? They could quite possibly continue to come out with even more outrageous slurs and we’ve all got to listen to it. It’s embarrassing for the Royal Family and detracting from everything else. Make it stop please!

I am sure the late Queen would have been politeness personified. Unlike me.

But like most of us treated with ridicule or contempt, the cards would have been marked.

I remember reading that the late Queen's father, George VI, would always watch what cutlery people used at dinners and banquets.
Then he'd use the same, just so that no-one felt embarrassed at using the wrong ones.
It's a small thing, but living with understanding, kindness and acceptance is so important. It is something that H&M preach about a lot, but rarely enact.

I know my views go against the vast majority of the posters on this thread and I get 're feeling I'm not really welcome. I don't know much about Rocky Shop of Horrors. Didn't even know it was called Audrey 2 but shortly after my posts, the GIFS would pop up. I asked for an explanation and was ignored.

I like this story.

When I hosted my first dinner party post-marriage I was very nervous. First time meeting many of DH's friends who were alot older than me (as he is). I for some reason laid the cutlery the wrong way around and got a patronising 'jokey' telling off from the wife of one of his friends. Plus the additional question ; 'what sort of education did you have '.

It was fucking mortifying. 20 years now and they have not been invited to my home again.

That woman might be the daughter of a Lord but she had no class.

It's just basic courtesy and consideration. Imagine living your life as if you're the centre of everything and others' feelings don't count.

You mentioned a dignified silence earlier in the thread I think. I forget what it was about.

I’m unsure if a dignified silence is suitable in this instance. Trying to justify inconsequential matters - like an invite to a wedding - makes it worse when you don’t address something damaging. More so when it looks suspiciously deliberate.

There are times in life when you need to speak up. There are times in life where you need to be quiet. Trying to justify it won’t work now.

Always complain. Never explain. Or take the time to understand. 🌱
