The royal family

Drama, so much drama

I find it strange that in a city like New York, where A list celebrities and famous dignitaries and politicians have been able to go about their business without drama, the Sussexes have yet again found themselves caught in a media frenzy, where chases and near collisions were involved. How is it possible that other more high profile celebrities can avoid this issue yet the Sussexes can't? It's like everywhere they go, drama always ensues. The Royal Family were bullying/jealous of them, nearly caused Meghan to kill herself, were racist towards their son, that they were being harrassed by the media in the UK, Canada and now the US. At what point do they realise that perhaps they are creating, or at least contributing towards all this frenzy themselves? Even Kim Kardashian comes across as more drama free than these two.

I was totally horrified to read Harr

TrashyPanda · 25/05/2023 11:34

Sorry!

horrified to read Harry’s adult recollections of bullying a disabled lady at prep school, with not an ounce of repentance or reflection.

can never forget that revelation

Meanwhile, I see that Travalyst is entering its “next phase”, claiming to be in a $3 trillion partnership. It’s just Archwell all over again, ie contributing a pittance and then boasting of a collaboration. As it was put on here, it’s like putting 50p in a collecting tin and then telling people you are in partnership with eg Oxfam.

I don't want to speculate on their marriage.

It does seem that she didn't turn up to collect the award yesterday. It could have been any number of reasons including, to be fair, being shaken up by the New York situation (hugely mishandled by their staff, but still probably quite unpleasant). Or being unwell, not the 'right' award for her image, or a prior engagement. Anything really.

Or she could be panicking that the award ceremony last week, which given the dress she was wearing I think she saw as her moment to relaunch herself looking fabulous, turned into a complete shit show. I'm guessing that the Gracie Awards just came too soon after last week's debacle and she was afraid something else would go wrong and she'd have yet another PR disaster to try and recover from.

Things have really not gone well for them recently. The Netflix documentary was widely viewed, but not especially well received, Harry's book was purchased in huge quantities and made a him a ton of money, but the coverage was much more negative than I'm sure they'd have hoped, then there was the pillorying by South Park, and now the 'two-hour, multiple near-collisions' nonsense that has largely been seen as a massive over-reaction by two drama queens eager for attention. It's all gone a bit Pete Tong.

@LadyMuckingabout - I was watching the Depp/Heard doc yesterday

this reminded me of AHs claim to have donated $7million - which she had pledged, but not actually given. And claimed donate and pledge mean the same thing!

Also there are rumours that she and Harry have been living in LA, not Montecito, for quite some time

Didn't they issue a press release about a 'stalker' - later a 'prowler' - outside their house at Montecito?

I think he was only charged with loitering I think in the end.

Something like that almost certainly happens every day around LA. There's a famous book called The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker which includes a section on stalking and also stalking of famous people. He described a situation where they were urgently searching for someone near a very famous female celebrity's house. They found 2(!) other stalkers in the vicinity, one of whom was actually living hidden in the bushes.

The problem with H&M is that they seem to have a very poor PR advisory team. Issuing a statement about a stalker is probably silly in LA when almost every celeb has stalkers outside their mansion. And the problem is that if they really wanted privacy, they would not fuel the fanatic fans by putting out books and podcasts and Netflix shows with very personal information as the content. They are basically living like Kardashians and then kicking up a huge fuss when they get chased by paps or have crazy people outside their house.

This is how tired I am.

I read this and thought someone had taken exception to Harry juggling outside the window. 🥴

Might be time for a sleep…
