The best man thing isn’t weird is it? I’m old so it was a job done by one person when me and my friends were getting married.
Over recent years I’ve been to several weddings where one bloke was next to the groom at the altar and then one or two spoke at the reception. I always took it as not wanting to hurt anyone’s feelings and giving a role to the most significant people in your life.
As regards Harry, it will be interesting to see how he reacts to criticism from respected ex-army people. I think that will probably hurt him more than public opinion. I think he rates himself on his military service. It will smart that military people think he’s let the side down.
I can see how he/they need to feel seen and heard even though it’s a bit nauseating. Surely if you want to be free of it, just say your piece and go and do your own thing.
They have over-played their hand with the Netflix series and book, simply for $$$ and they know it. I wouldn’t be surprised if things shift massively before the coronation.
