Why does everybody hate MM so much?

Probably going to end up quite controversial, however

I don't understand why people hate Meghan Markle so much?

As outsiders all looking in, we should really be on the fence for most of what has or hasn't happened, however in every situation, people jump at MM and hate her so much?!

I understand people may doubt things she's claimed, but there's no need for people to drag her down and have a go at her as much as they do.

& let's face it, none of the royal family are perfect 🤷‍♀️ I don't see a smidge as much hate for the likes of Andrew after the things he was involved with?

Because she married into a family then claimed she had no idea what it would be like - which is ridiculous. And now using her fame to promote her own agenda. They wanted to get away from it, but are doing the opposite… TBF I hate them both not just her

People live little insular lives and make sport out of pulling someone apart. It makes them feel good.

I'm not bothered about those who say they dislike her and get on with life but those who examine every little shred of information to look for fault. You have to ask what type of people they are to be doing that about someone that has no impact on their lives.

But then again I see people with that attitude on Mumsnet a lot that pick eachother apart, it's not something I find myself doing so maybe that's why I don't understand it

I used to like her. I understood her and Harry's need to escape from the public eye.

This 100%. You can like her/unlike her for whatever reason but if you don’t like her, why would you then go out of your way to watch their show? Why would you listen to her podcasts? Why do you know everything in regards to what she’s said but don’t like her? The obsession is really weird.

I neither like or dislike Meghan (the same as the rest of the RF) as I’ve never met them and they don’t have any impact on my life. Sometimes I click on thread from the RF topic that come up on trending and whenever Meghan’s involved, I see the same names speaking on her negatively. It’s so odd!

Because she’s a liar, a fantasist, she plays the victim despite her incredibly privileged lifestyle and she’s very nasty about her loved ones.

Harry is the same. It’s not just Meghan.

The impression I get here is that you have formed these opinions about her and Harry from reading and watching things about them. You enjoy it. If you didn't you wouldn't read about them. So actually, they offer some value to you regardless of how you feel about them, they provide you with entertainment.

The (repetitive) haters talk about MM and Harry like they know them personally.

The obsession with them is unhealthy, deranged and just odd.

I had no particular like or dislike for any of them and take media/tabloid stories about them with a pinch of salt.
I watched them on OW and I've watched several of the Netflix episodes. I still waver between feeling a lot of sympathy for them (undoubtedly the press have treated her in particular, horrendously) and then being sceptical/cringing about other stuff.i obviously don't know them but I found some things difficult to make sense of.

I don't love her, (she's incredibly gorgeous) I don't hate her but I hope that they get to "move on to the next chapter" soon (Harry's words)

I don’t get it. Even if she was a liar or fantasist or whatever else you want to call her - what has she actually done that deserves this vitriol? Makes no sense to me.

These are the same people who spout ‘be kind’ and then enjoy picking another woman apart because of something they’ve watched or read. She hasn’t done anything to you - just let her live her life and if you don’t like her, don’t watch!

Some people like to believe everything they read in newspapers and on social media including all the negative slant, the assumptions and speculation as if it’s all true.
Some people like to be judgemental and have an opinion about people they don’t know (usually because they’re read posts and articles that’s are speculative and make assumptions).
Some people are just judgmental and like pulling others down (eg all those saying the marriage won’t last 1 or 2 or 3 years).
Some people are unable to comprehend or empathize with what H&M have gone through
Some people are racist and some hate the monarchy whilst others feel that everyone in the RF should toe the line regardless.
Some people are just plain nasty whether posting anonymously in fora like these or IRL.
