I understand why the public wouldn’t necessarily want him back on royal duties if/ when they split. After the fiasco with PA and his “I did nothing wrong” attitude, only a decent apology will do. A grovelling one at the very least.

This is what she wanted. A high profile where she could do this kind of stuff. Not the controlled, rigorously timed and detailed, have to meet boring UK people who prefer Harry to me, kind of meet and greets.

She's certainly "hit the ground running".

I don't buy the idea that concerns about their MH meant no engagements were planned. They'd just had 6 weeks off in total privacy. Like the rest of us, there does come a point where at least one of them has to work for a living. Everyone has stresses, but we don't all have the luxury of a privileged lifestyle and no money worries. They need to get out cutting ribbons and those engagements should be in the diary and fulfilled before they opt out. Work their notice like everybody else has to.

Royal engagements are planned months if not years in advance. I can understand if Meghan didn’t have any due to maternity leave but Harry should have had quite a few booked in.

I reckon all their engagements have been cancelled, mainly because they're booked months in advance and AFAIK they were only supposed to be on a six week break. However, the fact that Archie was left in Canada and the dogs were flown out there back in November shows that MM had no intention of coming back.

There would be no point in them doing any engagements here now. Their popularity is at an all time low, it wouldn’t benefit anyone. Can you imagine how embarrassing it would be to be presented to them and have to smile with gritted teeth? Harry’s rugby gig tomorrow will be excruciating.

is that really so wrong ? I know the jury has sat and found M guilty of a number of offences and that wanting to make money for private gain is one of them .But it is possible that she wants to highlight causes she cares about ( even if this isn't without altruism ).

I don't blame her for wanting to escape the rigorously controlled visits she'd be allowed to do here .

I'm sure somebody has already made this point... but if you want to spend your life using your high profile to help good causes, then surely you're not going to get a better ready-made platform for that than being a member of the Royal Family?

Plus you don' t have to spend your time worrying about how to make money or deal with the admin. And the holidays are good.
