Previous thread

I’m not the original OP of the series. That credit must go to @TheMustressMhor
I just stepped in when the last thread filled up with no replacement

There is still an appetite for discussion / gossip depending on your POV.
I asked for MN to put it in the Royal Family topic as the subject is no longer headline news; but still ticking along. I think those people who are interested will find it and add their comments regardless of its location.

😐 I wonder if all this recent stuff is the beginning of the end for the monarchy.

@SerenDippitty

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite you’ve misattributed a post that I quoted to me. I didn’t notice the Amber thing when I quoted that post. [big grin]
Oops, so I have. I'm so sorry (at least I was commenting lightheartedly, thank goodness. Grin)

Someone posted today or late yesterday that Meghan has kept a journal of all of her interactions with the RF. I would love to know where that information came from. Did one of MM's friends leak that to the press? In which case that would seem all of a part with the idea of blackmailing the RF by threatening a tell-all interview.

JulietJanuary · 15/01/2020 12:25

You were putting a good case up to that point joyful.

Antigonads · 15/01/2020 12:25

@joyfulllittlehippo

Hmm

Hi all,
We've had several reports about these threads and have edited the title as it was not in the spirit of the site.
We do understand that the Sussexes leaving the Royal Family is a major news story and as such there will be some clamour to discuss it but we'd ask that posters refrain from speculating and in some cases even creating wholly fictional motivations.

For these threads to continue, we'd like to enlist your help to keep things on track.
This type of discussion can attract subtly racist posts, which we delete. We can look into previous postings to see if there is a pattern emerging, and we will act.

If you see anything which breaks the talk guidelines, please do report. We want the conversation to flow, of course, but where we think any poster is being disingenuous we will take action.

The Duchess can clearly can be a lovely, charismatic friend. She has it all going for her in that respect so good luck, etc.

@HopeMumsnet

Has any of that happened or are certain posters just claiming it is to get the thread deleted? I hope you're taking that into account when you're looking at these threads.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 15/01/2020 12:31

So an interesting event-

DH just texted me to say that the giant picture of Meghan and Harry that was painted on the side of a building (has been there since their wedding I think) by the train station in Windsor has disappeared.

I did ask if Phillip had been seen sneaking away with a bucket and sponge...

FatherRabulaConundrum · 15/01/2020 12:31

Ironically, this is exactly like the worst days of Charles and Diana's divorce with all the 'friends' briefing and counter-briefing, and the 'surprise' photo ops. They all need to stop feeding the media, especially at a time when there's quite a lot of other important shit going on for the ordinary people of this country.

Wow if you ever needed evidence that women can be as malicious and spiteful as men these threads serve as proof ...I mean what kind of people responsible for raising kids proudly start thread after thread to speculate and bitch about someone they don't know??? Do you not work? Are your lives so dull that you need to feast on the carcass of an easy target? Wow at times I really do wish to separate from this sex .. Or is misogyny so ingrained within you that you're happy to do mens work for them ? Being female does not innoculate you from criticism but for God's sake take a look at your (no doubt flawless) selves in the mirror and try and be a role model to your kids!

Fraggot · 15/01/2020 12:35

Jessica is definitely here.

EcocabbyRickShaw · 15/01/2020 12:35

@joyfullittlehippo you can be anti monarchy all you like. I am increasingly anti monarchy too.

No excuse at all for what you said, though.

Oh I left MN a wee while back fed up when after having posted criticism of Harry and his ecoidiocy the thread I was on was deleted.
Is this going the same way?

Blind Gossip is an interesting read so thank you for that posters!

mrscampbellblackagain · 15/01/2020 12:37

Umm, how do you know everyone posting is a female Trexical?

Tad misogynistic of you there with that assumption.

Anyway, how tax payer money is spent is of interest to all tax payers. And I pay a lot of tax so feel that I am allowed to comment on these threads.

Personally, I wish Harry and Meghan well as long as we are not funding them in any way.

I would like all of the RF to be self funded and for there to be total transparency with regards to their finances and all costs related to them including security.

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 15/01/2020 12:39

I think certain posters are working really hard to get this thread deleted. I am ever more concerned at how acceptable it now is to just shut down conversation that you don't like the content of and the implications this has for wider society.

JulietJanuary · 15/01/2020 12:39

But they have deleted threads! Maybe you missed them.

MoonbeamsAndCaterpillars · 15/01/2020 12:40

I also wonder if this might be the beginning of the end. MM fans don't like how she's been treated. RF fans, (and let's face it, even a lot of people, like me, who still really like MM), don't like the idea that she and H might be allowed to keep being funded but also opting out of royal duties. I don't blame MM at all. I think H is the one who is being a bit petulant here. He has his demons and personal tragedy of course, but who doesn't? I think it's the victim mentality which he has put out. She hasn't said a thing. It's all been him tbh or whoever is advising them. He should know better. He grew up in this family.

I don't blame him for wanting to leave the RF, but like most people, I don't think he gets to have his cake...

At least MM had a very lucrative career beforehand. Yes, H was in the military, but many people are and they certainly don't end up as multimillionaires. Many struggle a lot to find work after they leave. He's enjoyed so much privilege and it is obscene to me that he feels hard done by.

JulietJanuary · 15/01/2020 12:40

I'm not a royalist by nature.

Just don't approve regicide.
