Previous thread

I’m not the original OP of the series. That credit must go to @TheMustressMhor
I just stepped in when the last thread filled up with no replacement

There is still an appetite for discussion / gossip depending on your POV.
I asked for MN to put it in the Royal Family topic as the subject is no longer headline news; but still ticking along. I think those people who are interested will find it and add their comments regardless of its location.

Re: Court case and War of the Markle's, I think they are so caught up in victim status that they don't see the other point of view at all. Maybe they'll drop the case, but only if their team says they will lose spectacularly. Then they'll decide that the judiciary is against them too.

I suspect hell will freeze over before they think 'heck, maybe we are somehow responsible for this mess...'

astralweaks · 15/01/2020 10:59

Harry’s rugby gig tomorrow will be excruciating

Won’t it just!

I think Meghan Sussex thought that the Mail on Sunday would settle out of court and give a token (undisclosed) amount to charity, so Meghan would 'win' and look charitable and be able to point the finger at the press.

The Mail on Sunday has obviously had enough and seem to have an absolute full monty of personal text messages to play with in public.

And it is all a horrible, grubby game.

Wow the court case is going to be messy. Can you imagine having your own father as a witness for the other side in litigation? The MoS will clearly be going to town. If it’s open court it’ll be full.

Article in The Globe and Mail
www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/editorials/article-harry-and-meghan-and-why-members-of-the-royal-family-cant-live-in/

Final comment the most telling:
Canada is not a halfway house for anyone looking to get out of Britain while remaining a royal.

kirinm · 15/01/2020 11:09

You can tell none of you have any idea how litigation works.

MyuMe · 15/01/2020 11:10

Look at the hoop, jumping, simpering and Kowtowing other commoners did to marry into the Royals, for example, Amber Phillips ,who agreed to convert from catholism to C of E (Catholics can't marry into the Royal's and have titles .....or somesuch bigotory)

MM did do the hoop jumping. Baptised and confirmed in a C of E church before her wedding

'You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them'

- Desmond Tutu

I would just love the Sussexes to post this as their latest inspirational Instagram quote

TVdinners · 15/01/2020 11:13

I also read somewhere that MM may have converted to Judaism when she married her first husband.

notmoresheep · 15/01/2020 11:13

You can tell none of you have any idea how litigation works if only you knew 😂😂

Go on them sheep? Are you a litigation lawyer? I am.

AutumnCrow · 15/01/2020 11:19

Yes, love, of course you're a 'litigation lawyer' Grin

PlacidPenelope · 15/01/2020 11:19

It is a horrible, grubby game AutumnCrow, I can't fathom why they launched the case in the first place unless they thought the legal system was like an episode of Suits. The furore around Thomas Markle and Harry and Meghan had pretty much run it's course, press interest had all but died off and then Meghan's 'friends' did the feature in the US magazine, Thomas Markle was always going to respond to that and what were the MoS supposed to do with the letter? If they'd buried it when it was discovered they had, which would inevitably have happened, they would have faced accusations of covering up, bias, etc., etc., and Thomas would have just sent copies of the letter to a.n.other publication.

Harry and Meghan seem to be woefully lacking in terms of PR nouse.

SingingLily · 15/01/2020 11:19

I believe the heir to the throne can't marry a Catholic (or couldn't, don't know if it's still the case).

It all changed in 2013 when the rules of succession changed to birth order. The monarch must be C of E, as Head of the Church, but that's all.

I'm just wondering what MM would have to gain by having a second baby though. If it was additional leverage to get an even better deal from the RF, wouldn't she be ostentatiously cradling the bump by now?

notmoresheep · 15/01/2020 11:20

oh great, kirinms back. apparently a litigation lawyer that can’t spell ‘then’, doesn’t recognise figurative speech, or irony, can’t tell the difference between criticism and ‘hate’, and doesn’t appear to possess even a tiny sprinkling of skepticism for any of this. a litigator? sure you are, sweetie.

yolofish · 15/01/2020 11:20

Presumably a 2nd baby would make it even harder for Harry to leave.

AutumnCrow · 15/01/2020 11:22

I've always fancied being a 'legal lawyer' or maybe even a 'bar barrister', sheep.

Alsohuman · 15/01/2020 11:23

She’s achieved what she wants with Archie, there’s no need for her to have another child. I very much doubt she’ll bother.

Planeplane · 15/01/2020 11:24

That article in the globe and mail is interesting. Really shows how selfish they are being. They're both so focused on getting what they want and on showing what they can do they've not put a bit of thought into how difficult they're making things for a lot of people. The thought of creating a diplomatic nightmare to solve just because you fancy moving...it's ridiculous.

SingingLily · 15/01/2020 11:24

She’s achieved what she wants with Archie, there’s no need for her to have another child. I very much doubt she’ll bother.

That's my feeling. After all, she is very very focused on her looks and her figure so why put the second at risk if there's no further need?

DuchessofWoke · 15/01/2020 11:26

I did think she looked pregnant in that photo but it’s unlikely given how slim she was in the Canada House photos.

I can’t see her having another baby at all. Wouldn’t surprise me if Archie is an only child.

notmoresheep · 15/01/2020 11:26

a legal litigation baaaaaaaristering lawyering lawyer AutumnCrow
