Schitts Creek gets better, right?...

Hi,

So we've only watched the first episode, but so far I'm not feeling it.

The (grown up) children are a bit "try hard" in their comedy, but I'm really hoping it gets better, as everyone else seems to love it and I was really looking forward to it.

I still find it so weird Roland is the creepy guy with the weird hands from scary movie. He looked older then, than what he does now Shock.

I'm another who wasn't keen to start with but stuck with it due to other people's recommendations and absolutely loved it. I've started watching it again as it was so good and now I even love the very first few episodes too. I never did like Roland but love everyone else.

Where can you get the hoodies from? I definitely want one!

My friend that recommended it to me said that if I wasn't loving it by episode 5 it probably wasn't for me.
I wasn't sure about it to start, but he was spot on, at the end of episode 5 I was hooked!

I watched the first five episodes, thought it was mildly amusing but the characters were too unlikeable, then parked it for a few weeks until a friend told me to persevere. Carried on watching it and is started growing on me until the end of season 2, the final episode is great and that's when it clicked for me and I realised I LOVED it and the characters! Then Patrick joins midway through series 3 and it goes from strength to strength, the character development and progression is amazing. I ended up watching the whole thing again straight after finishing! 😂

I’d recommend the Good Place if you enjoyed Schitts Creek. There’s a little bit more filler than Schitts Creek, but its roughly the same quality IMO and absolutely nails the season finale. I’m looking for recommendations too! Anyone?
Have you watched Kim's Convenience? I loved that as much as The Good Place and Schitts Creek.

Took us almost a month to watch the 1st episode. Just hated it.
Persevered and now it's one of our all time favs.
So many laugh out loud moments which are delivered by them just perfectly.

..and yet, as I said earlier I'm on about ep 6 or 7 and still not hooked.

Same here but I just kind of had it on in the background and it steadily grew on me. Simply the best was the ultimate fall in love moment and I've watched that clip so many times now!

We started watching during the first Lockdown I think we got up to half way through series 2 -I liked it but wasn't really excited to watch it each evening-It was more that we had nothing else!
Other things came out that we watched instead and Schitts Creek got forgotten about and tbh was not bothered if I ever watched anymore..
However think I will go back to it soon as nothing else to watch AGAIN!!

It' doesn't have to be for everyone. I mean, there are people in this world who actually enjoy Mrs. Brown's Boys. Like really actually like it. Those people clearly have a different sense of 'humour' to me and possibly wouldn't like it.

I pressed Netflix's new shuffle button as I'm incapable of choosing anything to watch, this is what it landed on. First couple of episodes I could take or leave, then I quite liked it, and then I loved it! I feel quite bereft now I've finished it to be honest and have definitely considered just starting again from the beginning.

So that was a longwinded way of saying yes, it does get better!

This is exactly what I would say too. I was literally saying earlier I may watch again from the start as not sure whether I'd appreciate it more from the start now I 'know' the character's!!

She was still stuck at the stage of being impressed by a set of taut abs, back then. But Mutt and her Community Service still taught her a lot.
