Schitts Creek gets better, right?...

So we've only watched the first episode, but so far I'm not feeling it.

The (grown up) children are a bit "try hard" in their comedy, but I'm really hoping it gets better, as everyone else seems to love it and I was really looking forward to it.

Yes, it's similar humour to US Office, Parks & Recs, Arrested development etc.

I just love Moira!

Absolutely - I started off thinking it was two dimensional rubbish, but somehow the characters get under your skin and it’s brilliant.

Stick with it. My mum recommended it and I thought she’d lost the plot. Turned it off after 1 episode, got told to stick with it and ended up binging it.

The thing is, for the progression to work they have to be shallow, callous, two dimensional twats at the beginning. They are deeply unlikeable and therefore watching them is painful.

Yes. Power through. I think they're meant to be irritating at first, it makes the story arc all the better over the series.

YES! The first couple of episodes I wasn’t sure about but I was gutted when it finished.

We watched a few episodes , gave up and then went back when needed a quick light watch.
Will be bereft when we finish ( which is soon )

It's best to start a few episodes in, the storyline and characters are more refined. I started from series 2.

Absolutely persevere! Took me four episodes to get into it. It's now one of my favourite ever TV programmes and I wouldn't hesitate to watch the whole thing again from start to finish. Actually, I might do that.

The fruit wine episode makes me cry with laughter. But I thinks it's when Patrick shows up that you 'get' where they've come.

On episode 3 now. Still not getting it. The script is awful! Really amateurish. Again, hoping this is just teething problems.

OMG I was wondering why I just wasn't feeling it after a few episodes, just didn't find it that funny. So I need to persevere?

It took me to the end of season three to see any charm in it - people calling it funny or heartwarming confused me. We're now part way through series four and I'm not sure if I like it or not but I understand why people talk about it like they do.

I need to get through Shrill then I'll start on Schitts creek again. I absolutely love it

I first found it doing night feeds and thought what's this shit? After season 1 I was in love. It's one of the best comedies I've seen in a very long time.

It does get better, so much better. The Christmas episode at the end of season 4 is wonderful

So much better. Stick with it. I think S2 was where I started to love it.

So funny the way almost everyone doesn’t like it at the start and then falls in love. I had been told to expect that but by season 2 I was in love. I was bereft when I got to the end a couple of months ago and still feel like I don’t want to watch anything else as it won’t be as good!
