I haven’t read them @Grace58 but my friend has. So I heard a bit about them. Black mallet of death sounds scary though. I thought it was all gossip and dances.

My husband and I were lucky to see this being filmed at some local gardens about 14 months ago. Nobody would say what it was called, all we were told was it was for Netflix.

I am really enjoying it. Exactly my type of thing. I love period romances.

I'm on my 3rd vodka prosecco cocktail and watching episode no. 5. The alcohol has managed to shush my feminist outrage at the subservient roles of the women and I'm enjoying this.

However, I'm jealous of all the costumes & jewellery because I haven't dressed up all year.

I'm trying to imagine a life of sitting around all day hoping for a "suitor" to call on me to commence a courtship to marry me. I'm seriously questioning my life choices of having a career to be financially independent LoL.

This is light entertainment with a few chuckles, a bit of eye candy, beautiful scenery, beautiful costumes & jewellery. If you allow yourself to just go with it you'll have a few hours of well needed escapism.

Yeah, I don't want to piss on anyone's chips but it's like really terrible Jane Austen fanfic. Downton Abbey for the regency period. I'm finding it utterly ridiculous but not in the sense where I want to keep watching. It just keeps getting more stupid.
