Cold Feet season 9

Starts tonight at 9pm on ITV, apparently. I had no idea it was back!

Caught up on it last night. Thought Jenny was amazing - such a powerful scene in front of the mirror.

I'm loving it

I hoped they wouldn’t carry on with the cancer storyline, it ruined the last season for me. I used to have Cold Feet down as an ‘easy’ watch but I can’t stand the true horror that is cancer.

I've always loved Cold Feet but I need to watch season 8 first.

I've also met James Nesbitt as my old firm used to represent him. He's an arrogant, sexist bastard who thinks a huge amount of himself. He's not acting at all!

This new series is ridiculous - as if Karen would ever go for Adam?!

Although I'm not entirely sure what she ever saw in David!

As if anyone recovering from cancer and bald post chemotherapy would've taken their head scarf off in front of teenage kids laughing at their daughter.

It depends how bolshy she is, it fits with Jenny's character I think.

I thought it suited Jenny's character too.

I can see Adam and Karen together - it's been a long friendship and they're both single, so why not. I never understood why she was with David at all either but think she suits Adam.

I am always fascinated by Hermione Norris's mouth. It's like a moving catsbum!

She also plays the same slightly up herself, slow talking character in everything, but I still like her!

Its weird, when the last series started I thought "god no, not Karen and Adam?" but towards the end I was actually hoping things would work out for them!

He's an improvement on David, but not much!

I still love it. It’s one of the few things that I can watch throughout without being distracted by my phone!

I agree about Adam being awful and I cannot see what Karen is thinking. There’s been much more promising men for her in the past series.

Didn’t James Nesbitt cheat on his wife while she was pregnant? Unsurprisingly his ex-wife now.

The teenagers are all awful and it’s a shame they feel the need to write them like that. Stereotypical teenagers. Plenty of them are lovely young people!

Has David always been so ridiculous?

I don't think he wants Karen back does he, it's just that it's Adam with her?

I'm forgetting how they all know each other?

Yes, that’s how they’re friends. I started watching series 1 recently as I was early teens when it first ran, so my memory was bad on it all. And yes, David was still a plonker then. But he also had a great career so very arrogant

Yes he was always the pompous one that they laughed at. Even Karen would roll her eyes at him. Always full of self-importance and really looked down on the others

David comes across as so clueless that it's hard to believe he was ever a high flying financial type when the series started!

And are Adam's son and David's daughter still an item?

I do have a soft spot for David I must admit.

Given a choice I'd pick him from the three-although perhaps back when he was rich with a good career & working long hours

I remember crying at the flashback episode from tonight. It was so desperately sad!

Oh my god! That ending! 😭 I watched all the series back in the day and that took me back!

Rachel's daughter? I can't remember the all the old storylines...

Hermione looks good, she looked a bit over filled in the previous series.
