Starts tonight at 9pm on ITV, apparently. I had no idea it was back!

If anyone wants to binge watch right from the start it’s all on BritBox - apart from the final series which is still on itv hub. I’ve watched the whole thing in 30 days using the free trial. Mostly enjoyed it, particularly the early ones, and to see how times (and actors) have changed over the last 20 years, as I am of a similar age to the lead characters. Some terrible acting and unbelievable story lines along the way but an easy-ish watch - apart from the cancer.

@sneakythecat49 Farrow and Ball Plummet - I have it in my hall - although after watching this I think I want it in the Kitchen too (I have Blackened in there and it is too pale).

I love David! I just think Robert Bathurst plays him so well. I was admiring his thick hair in the last episode such is my love of his character!
Karen would never have gone for Adam. Her and Mark back in the day were believable.
Pete and Jenny are such a normal couple and well suited.
Agree about how James Nesbitt acted through Rachel’s death, he was brilliant.
Poor Josh though and Ramona not in it anymore.

Yes, I have a 17yo and I wouldn’t leave her for 6months to go travelling. It was typical Adam thinking with his dick but that thinking does fit with him because he pissed off to Singapore (?) and left Matthew at boarding school and with Karen in the holidays. So I suppose it stands to reason that in Adam’s mind, Matt would be more used to being left alone for long periods.

Was I the only one who had to watch that last scene between my hands?? I panicked that a lorry was going to crash into the side of the car and kill someone like it had before.

He rented it to his boss, I guess he didn't want to stay there knowing they were trying to get rid of Adam

I know it's irrelevant now, but how did Adam and Matt get back into their house? He rented it out for 6 months?
I thought it sounded really final with the original theme tune being played.

I actually find Adam and Karen believable. I’m 47 and I know of a few couples who’ve got together in recent years having known each other for a long time and been married to someone else. Me included - I’m divorced and am now going out with someone I originally met at school, people from school are surprised on the whole 😂

I agree with the PP who expressed surprise at a sixth former being left home alone for 3-6 months. I don’t know any parent in that position who’d go away for more than a week without their 17/18yo and we’re not a helicopter-y bunch at all.

I haven’t read all the messages on here but I’ve been really disappointed with the last 2 series. CF has always been my guilty pleasure but the last 2 series have left me wondering why I’ve bothered. Maybe it’s just me??

Queen.Yes as an actor I have no problem with JN and as Adam's character he's absolutely right for the role.I still remember how much DH and I laughed at that pilot episode when he and Rachel first met.It is more that he and Karen seem the most unlikely couple. But I guess bereaved/ separated friends do sometimes end up with the other partner.

Browsing on YouTube and I found the episode with Rachel's funeral. JN really was very good in that scene and that series. I remember him watching Matt start to crawl and ghost Rachel says "I wish I could've seen that" and he breaks down in sobs.

Despite the odd weak episode and trying to get my head around super smart Karen ending up with Adam I have so loved CF and I'm glad they revived it.I watched all previous series again last year as realised at some point I gave up on it.That was a mistake because in between the odd daft plot line there is some sublime writing and acting.Few other programmes have made me laugh and cry as much.
And at some point will watch it all again.I would love to revisit the characters in a few years time when older when retired, with grandchildren etc.So I really hope it does return .

YY to the comments on the vile Adam... I loved the final scene between Pete and Jenny. It threw the mad plans of touring round Europe in an unbelievably-fast-tarted-up camper-van even more unbelievable.

It was always James N and Helen B first in the credits back in the day too but I always felt they were the main characters.

Ooh is that what an ensemble piece is? I always wondered....

As good as he is, I don't think the actor playing Matt passed for 17/18. He looks the age he is, which I imagine is early 20s!

Just caught up with the last episode. I've always loved Cold Feet as an ensemble piece and I still do, apart from Adam, who gets more annoying by the episode. But what I don't understand is why James Nesbitt gets top billing! All the others act him off the screen, yet he pops up first in the titles every week.
If it was done as an ensemble then surely it would be Robert Bathurst alphabetically first!

*must be. Not must’ve

The girls got their a-level results at the start of the series and both decided to take a year off. Liv is re-sitting one subject. The other one is travelling.

Which means that Matt must’ve a year younger if he’s just turned 18?

Gap years? Karen was a mum with three small children when Rachel had none, Matt definitely a bit younger

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/02/2020 18:23

The girls are older than Matt aren't they? So they're at least 20. But yes, surely they should be at uni - weren't they sitting their A-levels when Olivia got pregnant?

Why werent any them at uni? Were they all the same age? The girls seemed much older.
