Evening all!
I'd like to ask you all a question if you don't mind, totally unrelated to the musketeers but I've been stewing on it and you're all lovely and can tell me to get a grip.
So, DD1 is 12, nearly 13. Has been rocketing her way through puberty and I wouldn't be surprised if periods turn up sooner rather than later. She's not been doing great with all the changes to her body and is absolutely dreading their arrival so I'm trying to make it as easy and comfortable as I can
DH and DD2 were out this afternoon, so DD1 and I had a nice mooch around the shops and we stopped off in Sainsbury's on the way home and thought we'd get some towels and tampons ready, I can show her how to use them, have a chat and hopefully put her mind at ease a bit, and she can choose what she wants to use
All fine, we choose a load of the Lilet teen stuff, pick up some bits for dinner and go to the check out.
First thing checkout lady says is "ooh, started your periods already, you're a bit young" DD is cringing, I said something like, "well it happens to us all, what a beautiful day it's been" in the hope that she shuts up. But no, lots more comments, DD clearly wants the ground to swallow her up, so I ask her to stop, she then mentions the tampons in our shopping and that I shouldn't allow them, it's disgusting, DD is too young, at which DD starts crying and I'm about to blow a gasket. So I send DD to sort herself out in the loo, pay and go. I was so bloody angry so I stopped to complain a customer services. Did I overreact? DD was so upset I wish I'd just left now, but I was fit to burst to be honest.
And a supplementary question, tampons at what age do you reckon? I remember how horrible the whole thing was and towels were so bulky and uncomfortable they made the whole thing worse, tampons made the whole business much easier.
Anyway, sorry for the epic post, love you all
