Is Constance pregnant? Is Anne pregnant? Who is in that coffin? Why is Aramis's chin so very shiny? Will Richelieu go out with a bang?

So many questions. Enough of the plot now! The most important one still remains. Just WHO would you chose first?

Please join us on what could be the last thread of the series (depending on how much we can fit in between now and Sunday night!)

We've had a lot of fun here, and it's never too late to join in!

Oh god yes Fleetwood Mac all day, every day.

Just saw rem on telly doing that and it went nicely with all the posts Grin

Ok ok, so here we have one that could be any of us, singing to any of them. Or any of them, singing to any of each other. Though prob not Treville to Cardinal. And it's a great song to end series on.......

Crank it up wenches THIS is your series finale swagger off into sunset song

MadamedeChevreuse · 30/03/2014 23:30

Night letus, Anne, sparkle, empty seat, everyone else

I totally missed my tearful speech slot earlier so im relieved sorry this comes when everyone's gone to bed. but...it's been a privilege to belatedly accompany you wenches on this journey of lust, leather, wet cambric underpants, shitepad fuckwittery, cognitive dissonance, rota infighting, and sisterhood.

I have never posted before on mumsnet apart from twice four years ago. the thing that caused me to join in here was that you were all talking about incredibly hot men on tv in such a funny, brilliant and generous way. It took me two weeks to catch up on all the threads and screw up the courage to pitch in, given that a) i always sound sarcastic on screen even when im not and b) i cant sound 10% as filthy and funny as hannah even when im trying my hardest.

I also love the way that, as well as covering every angle of the tv show, we have lived the musketeers motto and supported each other through various RL / twathead DP/H crises. There is so a TV series in this somewhere. Hannah, twit, any other aspirants, YOU SO CAN WRITE so let's doooo it!!!!! (Btw I have professional skills in this area. Sort of. Call me!!!)

So thanks all esp Anne for humouring me with my language geekery and attempts to comparatively analyse the plot against the book while you were comparatively analysing the cast's knobs. This experience has been truly enlightening for me. I used to think I was such a clever clogs. I now realise Im probably just on the autism spectrum.

TO SERIES 2 AND BEYOND!

HannahHorvath · 30/03/2014 23:32

Cardinal is NOT going anywhere. I mean CAPALDI. We might not see him ever very often. But he will most definitely still be referred to, still be alive, and still be the Richelieu (Capaldi) we knew. Ah feck it. You see that

HannahHorvath · 30/03/2014 23:41

Oh bloody hell Madame! That, was fucking beautiful. Wine You lot are making me cry. I've never had so many compliments of any nature, ever, in my life, ever, did I say ever? I'm a Leo. This is dangerous. I am prone to vanity. If we believe in horoscopes? I can't remember. Somebody will be along in morning to remind us.

The reason I love you wenches is a heart dump for another day. But you really don't know just how special you all are.

Right bed!! Get to bed Madame - GO!

We will still all be here tmw. And the Tavern ain't even open yet.

MalcolmTuckersMistress · 31/03/2014 07:05

Good MOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRNNNNNIIIINNNNNGGG!

Firstly I'd like to say, and I KNOW this will come as a bit of a surprise, but I fucking fucking fucking FUCKING LOVE Peter Capaldi! He's just my absolutely most favourite actor ever and I thought I'd be feeling a bit of a downer knowing he won't be back next year in his glorious fully formed Richelieu presence, but I all honesty I'm actually just getting progressively more excited about him being The Doctor. He's going to nail that part and blow people's minds.

I think the ending was good for several reasons...obviously they didn't realise about Capladi leaving at that point so he's still part of the story in a big way which is actually good. Although we all know real cardinal Richelieu did die eventually in his late 50s I guess there is this possibly to written into the next series. It would be a big story and quite a clever way of writing him out, but I am hopeful he might make an actual appearance. He will be a hard act to follow. Generally for me each week he's really stood out, but it have to say they were all equally as brilliant yesterday! Even Aramis and his too perfect beard and his slightly permanent state of smugness.

The ending stayed so true to how it's always been, no complex relationships, no ridiculous story arcs, no bigger picture. Purely just what you see in front of you and it was clearly written in a way that they could conclude the story, but also leave it open...in other words they didn't know they were coming back for another series.

The production has been consistently stunning. Some really beautiful breath taking moments. The archway scene really did it for me last night even DH was staring in awe! The fight scene before it was fantastic. Those Musketeers really kick ass. I think Dog has definitely gone from feathery strokes into "over that coop NOW" and that is a bigger honour than any leather sleeve. Grin He is the only one missing a hat! I hope he has a hat for the next series. Yes his hair is lovely, but HE NEEDS A HAT.

I love Treville. He's been a great leader and all round good egg, but we haven't got to know hum too well. I wonder perhaps if this might change next series? He must have a history and a few stories behind him.

I thought Pertwee played a blinder. He's another fabulous actor, it's a shame he got it, but I guess we all knew that was coming no matter how hopeful I was he might stay!

Very glad Milady lived to heave her bosom another day! I thought the hatred Athos has for her is very believable. Their dynamics together really has been intense. He is superb and is very good at becoming really rather dark, sinister and uncontrolled. He's also very good at looking INCREDIBLY FUCKING SEXY!

I've just loved it. I've never had so much fun quite like this watching something before. I still say it's no Sherlock or Doctor Who, but it's so brilliant for what it is, which is just a good old RIDE! I really am so delighted there's more to follow.

Twit · 31/03/2014 07:16

Morning all!

I'm not sure how I felt about that one last night, it was good, but I was disappointed in Richelieu being a bit, dim. Unless they are going with he thinks himself infallible and drunk on power, therefore can't imagine Dog or anyone tricking him? Surely now he will be even worse than before, for being tricked.
Did he suspect Aramis, or was he just being oily? Was he just thinking, ha, Adele, I can get him back for fooling me. Maybe, maybe.
I said all along he might make small appearances next series, so maybe, just maybe...(fingers crossed)
I was disappointed Constance didn't end up dead at the hands of Milady. (I know, I know). It would have been a brave thing to do, and would have kept Milady a villain ready for series two. Still, Mr Bonesaw played her really well. Get out Constance, it'll end in tears, on again off again with Dog for next series then.
I'm glad Athos got closure, but surely Milady will be back? She's too good a character to let go unnecessarily, especially with a lack of Richelieu (?)

The fight was cool. AND THEY SAID IT!
I will Rewatch this morning, and I imagine I will love it this time. Aww at Porthos tearing up.

And anyone thinking they can just help themselves to Porthos because I am invisible can FUCK OFF. I have had him as my number one for AGES. Before that, for a week (on this thread) it was Aramis. This is why I get Aramis on Thursdays. You fuckwrs can fight over Porthos then. Clear? Hmmm?

Twit · 31/03/2014 07:19

Oh, and I called it being fake Athos in the coffin but was shot down because it was too sherlocky.
Ha!

Twit · 31/03/2014 07:21

And the Milady thing.

Twit · 31/03/2014 07:24

Oh, hi mtm, I took ages typing my post and you snook in Grin

Yes, I loved the letter scene, even if I was a bit Hmm at Richelieu doing his big reveal. Hmm again at that. In fact thrice Hmm

Morning wenches

Just marking place for later. RL unfortunately must prevail this morning.

QueenAnneofAustria · 31/03/2014 07:44

Morning Wenches. Childcare fallen through for today and DH has refused to take DS3 to his mums in the car which will take 15 mins, he won't create a fuss and he will be 30 mins late for work. So I have to get everyone ready, get them to school, get on a bus with a child who has already tantrumed about going there and he will scream when i leave and be 1.5/2 hours late for work. Fab, first day in new office, first day my boss is back in the office for over two weeks otherwise I would work from home.

Great start to Monday morning and the bloody week.

LaComtessdelafere · 31/03/2014 07:44

Mooorrning wenches. Thanks for putting the kettle on twit, I've got a dry prosecco mouth which needs hydrating.

Thoroughly enjoyed hearing all your feedback. Will give a precis for Adrian and let him know when we get to Doskany.

RL news. Role play night ruined by awakened child at 10.30. Totally fucking ruined. Luckily I'm not working today so I can have a sneaky rewatch and hopefully keep my perve on til later. I shall never talk.of this again, clearly some kind of wench voodoo kicked in. Grrr.

Anyway. Must get kids to school then will settle back for a rewatch later. Anyone in today for that? twit?

Oh, and Madame, you're filthy now, best get out of those wet things, you'll catch cold.

Oh and Malcolm. He is a fucking awesome actor. I too am now v excited about DW.

LaComtessdelafere · 31/03/2014 07:47

Oh Anne. Nightmare, total nightmare. Could in la s not come and pick him up from you?

MalcolmTuckersMistress · 31/03/2014 07:48

Anne well at least you know Aramis would absolutely insist on doing the childcare in his honourable way. Hope you're not too harassed.

Smiling!

QueenAnneofAustria · 31/03/2014 07:52

They aren't those sorts if in laws. It's fine, but just pissed off at his unhelpfulness. The thing is he goes in early to do some tasks that need to be done within the two hours before wveryone else arrives so doesn't actually need to be there. He seems to think that because my boss is understanding and flexible that it always has to be me.

Anyway, rant over. Looking forward to a rewatch later this week, it will be my reward for getting some solid revision done before Wednesday.

Sparklegeek · 31/03/2014 07:53

Yes Anne Aramis would guard that DC with his life. Sorry, not helpful

Sparklegeek · 31/03/2014 07:54

He's so smooth

QueenAnneofAustria · 31/03/2014 07:59

Ohhhh Dog's a smoker.

JessCate · 31/03/2014 08:06

Morning ladies hope you had suitable musketeers dreams last night? I'm sat on the worst train and the man next to me keeps staring at my tumblr perving of athos, slightly distracting and I'm getting the side eye big time! Why must we work?!
