I just started a thread on what to wear to my husband’s 60th party. Is this too young? It’ll be longer on me as I’m short

I think though underneath all the words however bad they are deemed to be most people know the look suggested.

I really don't. I've occasionally looked at women and thought they would maybe have been better wearing something different, but it's generally been because whatever they had on didn't fit them, or (the majority of the time, and related to the aforementioned) because they looked uncomfortable or self conscious.

The women of all ages who wear clothes they love and enjoy (and keep the made up rules firmly in the fuck it bucket where they belong) look great, and until the advent of shopping restrictions that prevent women above whatever age buying X or Y then long may they get on with it, and I'm including myself.

I'll also say that whoever deleted my earlier post might want to head over to AIBU and check out some of the racist, islamophobic and antisemitic drivel currently sitting there unbothered if they need something to do.

It's what your schoolpal's mum was described as by your parents when unlike other mums she didn't have a tea cosy perm and wasn't dressed in a two-piece.

Ha ha!
Be careful: fashion is cyclical.
That look may become the Next Big Thing in 2026. 😀

Only they'll be called something like 'cherub curls' and 'co-ord set'.

Hilarious! 😀

And probably absolutely correct.

It does read young with the neckline and flouncy skirt and how unfitted it is. I think it's boring and too dark and the black will emphasis any sagginess or bagginess in the face. And you would need a great decolletage to pull it off, but Clarins do 'facials' for that area and have products. You would need jewellery to lift it but that is problematic with the neckline. I would suggest brighter colours and something fitted and more flattering. Maybe get along to a John LEwis and book a personal shopper.
