would you think this were inappropriate (minus the flip flops)?

Fine for a beach or on holiday, otherwise it would stay in my wardrobe, I couldn't honestly imagine wearing it outside that.

RenoDakota · 07/03/2025 11:01

I think it is one of the most hideous things I have ever seen and would think you were barking mad if you wore it to a wedding.
Possibly OK for wacky aunt vibe at a christening.

keyboardtypo · 07/03/2025 11:02

Love it

namechangeforthecringe · 07/03/2025 11:02

No I would say definitely not for a baptism, it's just a bit too holiday wear and (to me) it would seem like an attempt to be quirky/attention seeking. But others may have a different opinion so each to their own. For a beach wedding though yes it could work.

keyboardtypo · 07/03/2025 11:03

with the right accessories it would look elegant and formal as pp said.

BunnyLake · 07/03/2025 11:03

I think with the right accessories, this would look very elegant actually. Don't really get the beach vibe, it would be obviously a very expensive dress.

It’s got a lobster, some shells and a seagull on it.

Gundogday · 07/03/2025 11:03

I think you’d have to be a really arty person to carry it off at a wedding or christening, and be known to wear offbeat clothing.

Or a holiday outfit.

Floisme · 07/03/2025 11:04

Ok but what fascinator would you wear with it?

Obviously I can't speak for anyone else but, if it were my wedding, I would think it was fabulous. My only reservation is that slit - where exactly does it end?

Digdongdoo · 07/03/2025 11:05

I don't really like it, looks like a beach coverup. But it's not inappropriate.

Deadringer · 07/03/2025 11:05

I would think you have more money than sense.

BunnyLake · 07/03/2025 11:05

Crikey it’s £650 😯

Gloriia · 07/03/2025 11:06

A wedding? It looks like at best beach wear at worst a nightie.

Sansan18 · 07/03/2025 11:08

I'd remember you as the lobster lady.

GoldMoon · 07/03/2025 11:09

I'm sorry but I see it as very holiday vibe , worn by someone with a sense of humour and a fuck it attitude .
Great for holidays , but as an event dress , no .

saveforthat · 07/03/2025 11:09

I think it's hideous, sorry.

Chewbecca · 07/03/2025 11:11

I would think you were one of the trendy, cool girls.

What shoes would you wear?

rosydreams · 07/03/2025 11:11

not my cup of tea but i dont see a issue with it being worn at such a event. Of course if it was my sister i would be questioning her style choice

julia08 · 07/03/2025 11:12

I think you’d look very odd unless it’s a casual overseas beach wedding. It’s more of a beach cover-up. Have you noticed the slit up the thigh and the words “sun, salt, sea” printed on the side?

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 07/03/2025 11:12

Love it! So much more interesting the all the awful floral crap women wear to weddings and christening.

BunnyLake · 07/03/2025 11:14

No need to diss other women’s tastes.

Overtheatlantic · 07/03/2025 11:15

It’s gorgeous but has more of a southern European vibe. And Australian of course.

ruethewhirl · 07/03/2025 11:16

I think it's giving beachwear, OP, sorry.

SheridansPortSalut · 07/03/2025 11:18

I would think it was an odd choice.

MsRinky · 07/03/2025 11:18

I like it but would laugh my tits off if you told me you'd paid £650 for it.

Flamingoknees · 07/03/2025 11:22

Are you tall? This model is 5 ft 11ins, and it's not far off the ground.
It has a lot of writing on it that I can't read too, including up the sides.
Beach wedding would be a possibility, depending on above being clarified.
