Sainsbury’s jeans 😲

My mate was wearing a lovely pair of barrel leg jeans so I asked her where she got them. Sainsbury’s, she says, £22. So I went and got some for myself. First day out in them today and another woman asked where I got them, said they looked really nice on. And I wore them all day and they’re the same size now as when I put them on (marginally more relaxed but they haven’t grown a couple of sizes like jeans sometimes do).

Very impressed. When did this happen to Sainsbury’s? Are there other gems in the Tu department that I should look out for??

Sainsburys jeans are great
Most of my jeans are from TU and they wash well

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 28/01/2025 08:50

Their jeans are excellent, but sell out very quickly. I have a few gems from Tu, including underwear. Menswear also worth a look.

If you want something though, don't delay. Their returns at the Argos counter is excellent and the refund is processed as you leave the counter!

Wantitalltogoaway · 28/01/2025 08:53

I often see things I like in Sainsbury’s but they don’t include people who are smaller than a size 8 sadly.

Almahart · 28/01/2025 09:05

I tried these on before Christmas. I was amazed by the quality of the denim but sadly the shape did nothing for me

KittenPause · 28/01/2025 09:06

I had a couple of pairs of jeans from TU a few years ago and they were my favourites

I'll have a look because they do have some gems there and we have a large Sainsburys not to far away

I've got a lovely patterned shirt from there and some soft non wired non padded cotton bras which have lasted years and I wear when I'm at home. Not like a crop top type bra but proper bra that is like t shirt material slightly structured.

I don't think they sell them anymore because I look I every time I'm there.

OuterSpaceCadet · 28/01/2025 09:11

I Iove TU jeans because they do a decent tall range which has a deeper rise as well as longer leg. I'd say the jeans are slightly generous sized but their tops are not. However, I have some TU ribbed long sleeved t-shirts that have been worn and washed countless times and are almost like new.

wholenutcadburys · 28/01/2025 09:13

Just a heads up.. just popped into my Sainsbury's and they have loads of of barrel jeans in 50% off, picked up a few difference sizes but looks as though the Regular & Long are so long on me and I'm 5ft 6inch 🤣

wholenutcadburys · 28/01/2025 09:17

Update on my bargain jeans, they've just scanned at £6.60 🥳 there's a good 90% chance I'll look like a sack of spuds mind 😂

hby9628 · 28/01/2025 09:20

Sainsbury's jeans are my go to. They are absolutely brilliant. They often have great sales too.

YourWinter · 28/01/2025 09:20

I like Sainsburys and Asda for clothes, much better shape and longer lasting than Tesco. I haven’t bought jeans though, only underwear, leggings and t-shirts.

Notgivenuphope · 28/01/2025 09:21

Literally all my jeans are from Tesco! Find they wash and look better than expensive ones.

I also like the mid blue wash 🤔 and yes I think true to size.

I used to get lots there when dd was a baby as it was the only place I could go shopping. I don’t remember being so delighted with anything back then though.

They look like a dupe of the M&S carrot jeans which are lovely and about double the price.

ChloeCannotCanCan · 28/01/2025 09:26

I like the look of those jeans but never know how to style them for my figure. I'm 5,4 and a size 18 with generous boobs.

What do you wear with them - tight tops, tucked in jumpers, boots, flats???

YouSayChorizoIsayChorizo · 28/01/2025 09:30

Sadly this thread is too little too late for our local Sainsburys - it got rid of its clothing section last week, to the devastation of all. Can still get stuff online I guess but it's not the same. I find particularly with Tu you have to see and feel the fabric, the shoe etc, to get that 'absolute gem that looks much more expensive'...

middleagedandinarage · 28/01/2025 09:36

I love TU, 1st started buying after being gifted some kids clothes that I thought were really good. They have some really nice stuff and at supermarket price but far better fit and quality than other supermarkets ime

RitaFromTheRanch · 28/01/2025 09:46

Are the jeans true to size?

IcedPurple · 28/01/2025 09:56

Tesco are good for jeans too. Their 'countour jean' is my fave and I wait for the regular Clubcard discounts to buy a pair.

No changing rooms but I live nearby so returning isn't a hassle. I find it's better to try on at home anyway as you get a better idea of how it really looks without the pressure of having to make a decision immediately.

Bit boring but I bought a rubberised rain coat from Tu. Think it was linked to on here actually! It's amazing, cost about 20 quid and looks and feels loads more expensive. It's also the most waterproof coat I've ever owned!

I have the exact same coat and it's amazing. And looks so stylish too for a rain proof coat! I actually feel good in it.

My friends raincoat (sounds like this) is nicer than my Rains (which are designed for Northern European giants without hips).
I got the tu jeans that were recommended on here last summer. They do come up big, I could have got a smaller size) and are long(even the short ones). Wash very well though.

iffffonly · 28/01/2025 10:05

Most of my clothes are from Tu and wear well, look smart and fashionable .

I've been buying TU clothes for over ten years now. I only wear their comfort lace (or recycled lace, whatever they are called now) bras and cotton shorts, no other bras at all. The jeans are also very good indeed.

I also have some pewter ankle boots which I'm always getting compliments on and cost £25. I have worn them so often in the last 12 months and there is still not a mark on them.

SnidelyWhiplash · 28/01/2025 08:03

I don’t like them either. They do nothing for the model, who I assume is thin and not dumpy.

It’s good that they’re good quality and so cheap though.

Fine if you don't like them but the OP actually owns them, why on earth would you come on here and state how horrible you think they are?! Just don't buy them.

Also it's fine for clothes to make you look bigger or be unflattering.

SisterAgatha · 28/01/2025 10:21

Love Tu but I do find I need to size down. Which isn’t bad but something to consider online.

anon20 · 28/01/2025 10:26

I've been buying them for years. Great fit and price.

ShadesOfPemberley · 28/01/2025 10:31

Oooh I like these! Do they come up regular size or large/small? They have a 10 which I’m ok in if the sizing is a bit generous…! 🤞
