Sainsbury’s jeans 😲

My mate was wearing a lovely pair of barrel leg jeans so I asked her where she got them. Sainsbury’s, she says, £22. So I went and got some for myself. First day out in them today and another woman asked where I got them, said they looked really nice on. And I wore them all day and they’re the same size now as when I put them on (marginally more relaxed but they haven’t grown a couple of sizes like jeans sometimes do).

Very impressed. When did this happen to Sainsbury’s? Are there other gems in the Tu department that I should look out for??

Their chelsea boots have lasted really well, and comfy too.

PuppyMonkey · 28/01/2025 07:46

Fair play, they’re great prices!

justinhawkinsnavalfluff · 28/01/2025 07:47

I'm wearing a top from them to work today and I've had it years. I always rate their clothing.

Pigsinblankets13 · 28/01/2025 07:47

Love it for myself and baby clothing...also rate tesco clothes too!

EBoo80 · 28/01/2025 07:49

this thread has just influenced me into new jeans AND new red shoes. Oops.

NothankyouNigel · 28/01/2025 07:52

I got the same jeans a week ago and I love them, don’t want to take them off. I have resisted this style thus far as thought they looked a bit ridiculous in pictures but was after a soft, throw on, not aware you’re wearing jeans kind of pair that I remember from my twenties and this fits the bill entirely. Looks surprisingly good on. Oh and I sized down!

@Rina66 love the velvet suit - it is lush!

Shardlake63 · 28/01/2025 07:56

I've got three pairs of Sainsbury's jeans, and I love them.
I favour their mom style, or relaxed slim, as they suit my figure better.
I also have several other items - tops, skirts and even some nightwear. It's all of a very reasonable quality for the price and has washed and worn well.
Their men's stuff is also very good and my husband has several of their t-shirts and polo shirts, which wash and wear as well as the much more expensive brands that he has.
What's not to like??

BabCNesbitt · 28/01/2025 07:59

How are the jeans for length? Have they done that ridiculous thing that Marks have done where I’m now in a short despite being 5’5”?

OuiOuiMonAmi · 28/01/2025 08:02

Jeans and raincoat are pretty much all out of stock now 😭

Don’t they just make your look larger? They make that model look larger imho. Not a fan of this style, sorry OP.

I don’t like them either. They do nothing for the model, who I assume is thin and not dumpy.

It’s good that they’re good quality and so cheap though.

CaptainAwkward · 28/01/2025 08:04

Oooh, I got these a few weeks ago and they’re great

Look a lot more expensive than they are and the fabric is soft even though it’s sturdy

The silhouette doesn’t look too daft as it’s balanced by being cinched in at the waist with a belt and I’ve quite a few compliments on them

Bit boring but I bought a rubberised rain coat from Tu. Think it was linked to on here actually! It's amazing, cost about 20 quid and looks and feels loads more expensive. It's also the most waterproof coat I've ever owned!

Same 🤣

And I am tall, not hugely so (5'7" ) and most of their jeans and trousers are too short on me Sad

It's a shame because I have bought several good quality pieces from Sainsbury's over the years.

How long ago was it that you tried them? I think they changed a couple of years ago. I'm 5'6" and sometimes I need to buy their short length. I've even had to take up their standard length trousers. They also do a long length. I bought a pair of long cords in the autumn that I took about 3 or 4" off to fit (they were £6 in the sale and are my favourite trousers 🤣).

Ohmyovaries · 28/01/2025 08:18

I like the Tu jeans, particularly for the price, but find they wear out quickly for me on the thighs. But that may be more of an issue of the size of my thighs!

CaptainMyCaptain · 28/01/2025 08:24

I clicked on the link and the only size showing was my size but when I tried to check availability locally that size wasn't even on the drop down. (10R) A bit disappointing.

evilharpy · 28/01/2025 08:27

I really like Sainsburys clothes in general. I've had a few jumpers and t shirts that have washed really nicely. One of my favourite pairs of jeans is a pair of washed out black/grey denim joggers from Sainsburys, they fit so well and are much better quality and better made than some far more expensive pairs I've had.

Ignore me. I've just woken up. I've ordered some to collect now.

Me too, I wondered if something has changed?

CharityShopChic · 28/01/2025 08:34

Sainsburys have always had decent clothes - my daughter is 19 and when she was a toddler almost everything she wore came from there as it was one of the few places at that time which did girls clothes in orange, turquoise, purple, green and not just pink and beige.

We don't have a big sainsbury's near here with a clothing range which is a shame but I do really rate them for basics and work wear. And school uniform.

I saw one of those in my local Sainsbury's on Sunday, but it was £55. I liked it but tried it on and thought I looked like Bruce Willis in Unbreakable so I didn't bother! Good coat though.

Yes. I'm 5'6" and sometimes need to buy a short.

PeachPumpkin · 28/01/2025 08:40

I’ve got some Sainsburys jeans and I’ve been really pleased with them. I’m someone who finds it difficult to find jeans I’m happy with. I also have a long sleeved top from there. It’s nothing exciting, but it fits very well, the v neck isn’t too low and doesn’t gape open when when I lean over and it washes well and hasn’t gone out of shape.

MyOtherProfile · 28/01/2025 08:40

Sainsbury's TU is great! In my experience they range from clothes only your nan would wear to clothes that are surprisingly lovely. Can't beat their jeans and I've had some lovely shirts and jumpers from there.

InSearchOfMartin · 28/01/2025 08:44

@BabCNesbitt I find everything too long even short length. I'm 5'1" and was swamped by some M&S trousers. I used to buy trousers from Dorothy Perkins with a 27" inside leg but can't find these any more.
