What shoes do you wear if you can’t walk in heels?

I’m really, really bad in heels. Broke my ankle a few years ago and I’m like Bambi if I try anything over two inches. Anything strappy presents an even worse issue.

I’m also very tall and don’t like towering over people constantly.

I’d like to buy this dress for an event but I don’t know what to do shoe-wise.

Any ideas, and ideally, links please oh wise ones?

These would work well.

I wear a low-ish, slim wedge sandal with dresses for weddings. Occasionally a kitten heel slingback if I can find a style that’s actually stylish. I have some low block heel and some nice flat sandals for more casual dresses.

(Also tall and can’t walk in heels!)

I can’t stand brogues or Mary Janes. I wear loafers or pointy flats with trousers, but I think a dressy dress needs a little heel.

Please don’t wear brogues, the dress is too feminine. It’s stunning, I think a pointy flat would look nice (sorry no link to share!)

I have 1 lovely pair of Chanel flats. Everything else is a trainer or a Birkenstock 😂

I have a pair of sparkly silver slingback pointy flats from Next which are a good heeled shoe replacement for dressier occasions like weddings

Agree - I think this is the best most modern and stylish choice!

Forgot to say, the dress is lovely, where is it from? I agree it’s uber feminine so brogues or anything heavy won’t gel. Siver shoes are really trendy at the moment but might draw attention away from the dress. Something navy, feminine and low-key but stylish would do it.
