@Snowyowl78 and @No1Mousie I almost did contact Toast CS at the time to ask for a refund. But then I wondered if I had mysteriously made Kindred, because I had finally cracked after spending far too much on postage!

IlovePond · 30/07/2024 21:44

Hi @mizu I never know exactly how to measure dress lengths, but from the top of the shoulder seam to the hem is about 44.5 inches on the size 12. I have just held it up to me again and it is a bit longer on me than I thought - probably close to midi. However, I am a lot shorter than you, (and I have a long body and short legs!)

mizu · 31/07/2024 08:27

@IlovePond thanks so much. I have quite a long body too and thinking the 10 might not fit!

The length might be ok. I'll check it against other dresses. And then have another ponder.

Poplinskirt · 31/07/2024 09:31

PJ bottoms arrived next day delivery.
I might risk ordering the green not my colour as they are so lovely and cool .

They are far nicer than the photo

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 31/07/2024 11:10

My check crinkle dress arrived today, the 10 fits perfectly, you were right about the sizing @ScottishMouse . It is very long on me, down to my ankles, I’m definitely keeping it, although I can’t decide whether to take it up or not.

ScottishMouse · 31/07/2024 11:50

Ah glad it’s a success @Theteapotsbrokenspout. Mine is also very long and I also swithered over taking it up. I didn’t get around to it before going away, and I have now worn it quite a few times so I probably won’t bother at this stage.

ScottishMouse · 31/07/2024 12:04

Maybe someone who knows something about making clothes knows the answer to this. Or maybe someone who also has this issue knows the answer.
Why is it that shirts (usually shirts but also a looser boatneck tee I have) always move up my body at the front and down at the back, so that the neck is too far back on my shoulders and the front of the neck is choking me? I find this with so many shirts, whether they have a collar or not, and it drives me nuts.
Is it a larger bust, wider shoulders, rounded shoulders…what causes this?
I have two shirts that it doesn’t happen with and they are a bit boxier/looser, one has a wider neck (no collar) and one is quite weighty fabric.
I think I am going to have to send back the striped drawstring shirt which I ordered in a smaller size as the larger one I tried a while ago was too big. It seems to fit well but this started to happen immediately. I’d love to understand why it happens.

Kindred renewed!

SirSidneyRuffDiamond · 31/07/2024 18:42

My post pass automatically renewed today but I have yet to receive an email letting me know. You can check on your account to see the date.

Snowyowl78 · 31/07/2024 18:46

New stuff on the website alert

No1Mousie · 31/07/2024 18:51

well, I checked my toast pass this morning and was v disappointed to find I was expected to buy a new pass. So off I went in high dudgeon to count up how much I had spent in the last year (it was ahem rather A LOT), and then write a snotty email to CS.

Fortunately I didn’t get around to writin the email as I see I now have a lovely shiny new pass.

The flip side of this exercise is that I now need to have a very stern talk with myself about how much I spend on nice clothes …

RockaLock · 31/07/2024 19:49

Oh, yessss, I've just checked and I've had my Kindred renewed!

This year was my first as a Kindred member, and it was a lovely surprise to get that email after hearing all you lot talk about it. I must have spent enough in the last 12 months to re-qualify(!)

IlovePond · 01/08/2024 08:45

My Kindred has been renewed - yippee ! This was the first time I could see the Toast pass as free with an expiry date, (as I paid for mine last year). I am both pleased at being invited and a bit horrified by how much I have spent this year🙀

I am popping into Shepton Mallet tomorrow- must restrain myself from buying for the sake of it!

OftenOrange · 01/08/2024 11:57

Thank you for pointing out that the Kindred pass can be checked , and yes happy to say I’m ok for another year.
I’d love to know the cut off point because now I have large purchase like coats sorted for a few years, overflowing woollies drawers , socks galore all from Toast , I can’t see myself qualifying next year.

Popplebop · 01/08/2024 13:25

I don't know how much you have to spend or the criteria for the Toast pass but I have had one for years and years. Sometimes I have spent a lot and other years much less- maybe a couple of full price and a couple of items in the sales. I have to say I have spent MORE since these threads have been running 😆

OftenOrange · 01/08/2024 14:25

@Popplebop Oh yes, the thread is very enabling 👗

Countmeout · 01/08/2024 17:49

My Kindred is January, not sure why.

Some of the new drop is very dull. Or is it just me, I don’t think they’re for me.

OP posts:
ScottishMouse · 01/08/2024 18:06

So is mine @Countmeout. Agree about the new drop. Pretty small drop, nothing appeals apart from the mustard sweater but I don’t need any more knitwear.

mrstrickland · 01/08/2024 19:09

I bought a lovely pair of trousers in the sale, a nice weight of denim, feel really nice on, only for the zip to burst on the 2nd wear 😩

Snowyowl78 · 01/08/2024 19:27

Did anyone buy the denim half placket shirt in the sale? It’s a massive bargain, really lovely. Nikki was wearing it in one of the lives last year. I sized down twice though and wondering if i went a step too far!

The new men’s drop is interesting! More interesting than the women’s perhaps.

faustina · 01/08/2024 20:28

My post pass also renews on January 1st. @mrstrickland - oh no what a calamity!!! Maybe they will repair for you if they can't exchange?

I hadn't thought to look at the men's section yet - thanks for the nudge @Snowyowl78 - off to see! Not tempted by anything in the Women's new drop

edited to add - except for the waxed cotton Novesta Starmasters - they look nice, but will they be as hard soled as the canvas ones?

MiracleToast · 01/08/2024 21:58

I am really excited as Toast listened and have made the cashmere scarf in a neutral “pebble” 🤗 I remember there were a few of us here discussing this a while ago.

From the new drop I will definitely get that and the navy cashmere shorter sleeved sweater, such a lovely cut.

AFingerofFudge · 01/08/2024 22:20

@MiracleToast I was looking at those jumpers however I wonder how short they are - I have quite a big tummy and so I can't have anything too short as it just doesn't sit well.....

Wondering if we should start a new thread???
