In case it helps anyone, I’ll also tell you about the other things I tried….
Cotton poplin stripe dress - beautiful and so flattering. I tried a 12 (would have been a 10 in old sizing, am a HS 12 on top, 10 on bottom) and the fit was perfect. I am definitely considering this.
Tiered cotton poplin dress in navy - a little tight at the armpits and I didn’t like all the gathers on me. I tried a 12.
V-neck garment dyed linen dress - I wanted to try it in caramel but they only had the mist blue (which looks more like green to me). It was almost perfect. Again I tried a 12. It is very long, and at 5’2” I would have needed to take it up. But the deal breaker for me was that it was a little tight on the upper arms. I often have this issue and I think it is a combination of wide shoulders and ample bust more than my arms, but I knew it would annoy me so I left it behind.
Check linen wide leg trousers - I was hoping these would be a summer version of a pair in cotton/cashmere that I have from years ago. Sadly they had pleats on the front that didn’t flatter me, and were also full length on me. The sizing was very small - a medium just fitted, and I am a new small/old xs in elasticated waist trousers usually.
Garment dyed linen barrel leg trousers in navy - ok, I know I was very negative here the other day about these, but I have them another go and ended up buying them. Size and shape are perfect for me (though I’ll need to take them up), and I can overlook the fabric which I would prefer to be a little thicker or a cotton/linen mix ideally, as they will be perfect in hot weather like this weekend. Size wise, my (new) normal small is a perfect fit.
Cotton merino marl knitted tank - this also came home with me. I didn’t intend to look at it, but it was styled in a lovely way in the shop and I tried it and it was great. Looks good with nothing underneath and also with a white shirt (and likely lots of other things, that is just what I had on anyway). It feels like it would be airy and light enough to wear on a warm day. Size-wise I bought a medium. Small would probably have fit but neatly, and I wanted it a little roomier for layering.
Trippen Alex sandals - someone here the other day suggested the toe bit might not be comfy. I found that fine, but it seemed like there was too much space at the top of the sandal because you can only get your toes in as far as the big toe will go into the loop bit. Maybe if I had longer toes?? Anyhow, glad they didn’t work as they are too spendy. But they were super comfy, and fit a wide-ish foot just fine.
Hope some of that might be helpful.
