what have you got and what are you replacing? Anything on your wishlist?
I'm looking for casual dresses

Two work (teacher) skirts from Nobody's Child to replace two I sold at the end of last summer.

I need one work 'blouse' and a couple of golf tops. That's it.

I've bought a plain linen dress from Seasalt, in case the weather gets excessively hot. I left it too late the last couple of years and by the time the weather changed there was nothing suitable left in stock. I've probably guaranteed a cool summer! 😏

tastydiner · 12/04/2024 07:14

I would like some new cropped/ankle grazer jeans or trousers. I also need a couple of pairs of shorts and a couple of smarter tops rather than t shirts. Beyond that nothing. We are in Scotland so the likelihood of prolonged hot weather is slim.

What do people wear in their feet if they don’t like open toe sandals but want something that’s not trainers?

Lentilweaver · 12/04/2024 09:37

Love that M and S dress except for the tiers. Why is everything tiered?

I always wonder that too

Lentilweaver · 12/04/2024 10:05

I cant do puff sleeves either which ruled out 90% of summer dresses for me. I look like a Soviet weightlifter. I am attempting skirts this summer.

GettingStuffed · 12/04/2024 10:23

I've bought this, it's so versatile with smart sandals for an evening out or flats for a more casual look.

I love tiers, perhaps being a child of the 60s has something to do with it.

I like that @GettingStuffed. Love blue and white for summer.

dudsville · 12/04/2024 10:38

I have lots of nice clothes that I am looking forward to wearing so I am not really planning a shop, but I did buy a new summer dress and two pairs of summer weight trousers that I can't wait to get out!

That’s really nice. I’ve never heard of cupro fabric, is it synthetic?

LivingDeadGirlUK · 12/04/2024 12:01

I'm hoping that due to a bit of weight loss I'm going to be able to wear some things I've not got into for a while, its almost warm enough to rotate out the winter clothes!

Thomasina79 · 12/04/2024 12:38

I’m looking for a 1940 style dress. Not sure why, I mostly wear jeans!

YouSayChorizoIsayChorizo · 12/04/2024 13:17

I usually steer clear of big puff sleeves too, but I tried this on in Oliver Bonas and loved it. Tried a size 8 because it was all they had and it looked big enough - I'm normally 12-14 - and it fit perfectly, so I don't know if it was just sized wrongly or they're massive. I like to think it'll add a cool 'Poor Things' vibe to my summer shorts and widelegs!

It's semi-synthetic. Not as sweaty as polyester, not as hard to iron as cotton.

NahNeedsGarlic · 12/04/2024 14:03

A couple of linen blazers because I have conferences over summer and boiled last year.
I’m looking for the holy grail of well-cut t shirts, probably without success as usual.
A small leather backpack.
Trying to resist buying more sandals.

Lentilweaver · 12/04/2024 14:23

Anyone seen any nice simple cotton shift dresses without puff sleeves or tiers or yokes, preferably under £60?

DrCoconut · 12/04/2024 14:29

I need new sandals. My budget is more shoezone than designer and I'm looking for comfy and practical (for camping and beach trips hopefully) but not grannyish. Anyone seen any bargains?

I bought this last year in red. Hopefully they'll do a few more colours this year as it might fit your t shirt requirements. It's a bit dressier than the ones I got in fatface.

Nope but it's slightly bloody hot so I'll likely start LOL!

Brieandbeetroot · 12/04/2024 15:58

I have! Am going on holiday to Greece in June and will be about 18 weeks pregnant with DC2 so it's a bit of a challenge!

I really don't want to buy loads of maternity clothes as to be honest, I don't like most of them and I really like clothes, so I'm trying to buy stuff that I can wear when not pregnant as well as having a little room for expansion at least until third trimester.

So far I've got:

Maxi skirt
Green stretch dress
Stripe dress

And some linen shorts and trousers which have an elasticated back so some room to grow!

I'm also waiting for this to arrive and hoping it's good because it looks just beautiful!

Linen shirt dress

70sdisco24 · 12/04/2024 16:14

Yes!

I’ve got a light Superdry pale green jacket
One pair of Vans plain white trainers
Red trousers from French Connection
White Stuff green casual skirt
Mango blue patterned skirt
Patterned culottes Nobody’s Child
Red and pink patterned shirt from Next

I’ve been living in jumpers, black jeans and a raincoat so with what I already have I'm sorted for the whole summer now!
