what have you got and what are you replacing? Anything on your wishlist?
I'm looking for casual dresses

Yes, me too. You said it better and more succinctly than me 😂

I usually end up wearing cardigans over more summery clothes but would like a more stylish solution.

This is my problem.....I have literally nothing from last year, or the last 15 yrs!
Losing 6st is awesome but I cant afford a whole new 'posh' wardrobe. Am mainly shopping in Primark, Poundland and any online sale item that are under a tenner!!LOL😄

Vinted is your friend!! I lost over 14 stone and with a couple of exceptions clothed myself entirely from vinted whilst I was losing…I then resold what I had sized down from!

Justkoko · 14/04/2024 19:01

I'd really like some good and very comfortable brown leather mary janes or t bars to wear out and about with jeans. I like these but hate how they always get styled with frilly ankle socks which gives a different impression. Not sure if they're too chunky too. And definitely too pricey, but if anyone see something lovely for wearing without socks.

Justkoko · 14/04/2024 19:01

Whoops.

Or rather, some kind of closed toe shoe that looks relaxed but stylish and can be worn without socks. Any ideas welcome! I worry that the ones above aren't quite grown up enough for me.

@Jeezitneverends
14 stone?!
That's absolutely incredible. How did you do that?

I had surgery☺️

Andnowshesatoddler · 14/04/2024 20:45

@Jeezitneverends still well done on going through it

Thank you, it’s been absolutely life changing in the best possible way

Thanks @Jeezitneverends but I should have said - m&s is a no-go for me. Everything I've bought in the last 5 or so years has been horrendous quality. I actually got a pair of leather gold sandals last spring, and by August they had a distinct crack in the middle where your foot bends. And they weren't particularly cheap!

@Pigtailsandall I've had exactly the same problem with a pair of boots - the sole on both left and right feet have splits in them.

bendmeoverbackwards · 15/04/2024 00:47

@Saurus72 love the Boden sandals, tempted. Although I like a slight heel on sandals.

Meadowfinch · 15/04/2024 01:22

I need shoes - trainers to wear with a dress, and dressier sandals for work. I'm really struggling to find any I like and are comfortable.

And tops/t-shirts.

Whoops.

I love Josef Seibel Rosalie 13 shoes and live on them. I don’t like open tied sandals. They’re really comfy to wear. JL only have a couple of colours, but other shops do a lot more colours, including natural brown leather.

CormorantStrikesBack · 15/04/2024 07:36

The brown tiered dress I ordered from m&s arrived, I have to say it is the most flattering dress (on me) ever. Love it. this one

Justkoko · 15/04/2024 08:27

@CormorantStrikesBack that dress is nice, I'd try it in the blue but no petite in my size.

Do these look a little...kiddy? With jeans. I love retro shoes like thus but not sure if I'd get double glances!

Jeezitneverends · 15/04/2024 08:30

@CormorantStrikesBack you can’t beat the feeling when you know something looks good on you!

@Justkoko as a child of the 1970s, I had many pairs of school shoes very like those so wouldn’t wear them myself, BUT if you like them that’s all that matters…and I do have a fondness for Mary Jane styles but can never get them to fit me, so go for it!

They're quite good with returns. I returned DD1's school brogues after they split within 6 weeks. They did offer me an exchange which I refused!

CormorantStrikesBack · 15/04/2024 09:04

@Justkoko I really like those shoes, where are they from?

Riverlee · 15/04/2024 09:31

This is one of those dangerous threads when you end up ordering clothes…. . Don’t think summers coming any time soon though, as just seen we have a weather warning for wind.

CormorantStrikesBack · 15/04/2024 09:39

Yeah I am wearing very summery floral trousers to work today and it's 7 degrees and like a monsoon. 😞

Me too! I don't like trainers either, and feel brogues are too office-y.

I know. I might have to stop unfollowing as there are just too many nice things!

@Justkoko I love those shoes. A little funky, a little retro but not too out there. Where are they from?

One thing I'm forever on the lookout for are smart shots I could wear to work. Something a bit tailored, thicker cotton, just above the knee.
