what have you got and what are you replacing? Anything on your wishlist?

I've bought this, it's so versatile with smart sandals for an evening out or flats for a more casual look.

I love tiers, perhaps being a child of the 60s has something to do with it.

LOVE this! What in earth is a cupro blended fabric though?!

gocompare · 13/04/2024 08:05

I've ordered these trousers from tik tok. I'm 5 foot six. They are the perfect length for me.

These will be fine with t shirts and I could smarten them up with a blazer.

Makes a change from jeans and they will be ok for work also.

I forgot about my Zara shopping trip last week! I’m on Scotland so there’s always the need for a cover up in the summer 🙄I got this Chanel inspired cardigan, smarter than a hoody, but not as formal as a jacket
https://www.zara.com/uk/en/knit-cardigan-with-golden-buttons-p06427124.html?v1=342171645&v2=2352849

I also got this linen shirt, just a basic all rounder
https://www.zara.com/uk/en/100-linen-basic-shirt-p08372097.html?v1=364330826&v2=2352882

I find Zara one of those shops where you either see absolutely nothing or you want to buy the entire shop-no in between….this was a “buy the entire shop”day😂

Omg I just clicked on the Zara cardigan - there is so much beautiful Chanel inspired clothing on that site!! 😍

I so wish I wasn’t too fat to wear any of it 😞 It has inspired my diet ( again! )

RampantIvy · 13/04/2024 09:47

@gocompare isn't Tik Tok a social media site? Who did you actually order these trousers from?

Luckingfovely · 13/04/2024 09:56

@RampantIvy TikTok is a variety of things, including being one of the fastest growing online shopping sites.

Influencers post products and you can buy directly from anyone, the site includes a native shopping platform.

RampantIvy · 13/04/2024 10:41

I didn't realise @Luckingfovely
I don't have TikTok or follow "influencers"

SmudgeButt · 13/04/2024 11:29

I have a pair of jeans I wear most days and some nice trousers for going out. Already have too many tops. Bought a couple of tshirts while on hols so that's probably all I'll get. Not really a shopper though so this could do me for the next decade.

Saurus72 · 13/04/2024 12:13

Ooh nice thread! Agree re: tired of tiers and not liking puff sleeves. @TheGirlattheBack I’ve been looking at dresses on Maison Hotel for a while, they’re lovely. Have you ordered from them before? Wondering about quality?

I always shop ahead for summer - once the warm weather’s here (ever hopefully..) I just want to have what I need. I’ve bought:

Dresses

Chiffon from Jigsaw - I have a few smart events this summer so should work OK. Maybe need a white/cream linen blazer.

White linen maxi dress. V nice quality, should last for years. Also considering buying the navy too.

Cotton dress for work but bought from a Cancer Research charity shop for £49! They had a whole rail of BNWT Reiss dresses in multiple sizes, v chuffed!

Another work dress. Good for warm not hot weather.

Shoes
Mary Jane’s * *similar to these but in silver. V comfy.

Flat sandals I bought the gold and tan pairs - simple and comfy. I hate shopping for shoes so if I find some that are comfy I often buy multiple pairs.

I’ve ordered this linen wrap skirt, picking it up from Waitrose later. And also this linen tote.

It’s pretty warm here today, sandals are ON!

I need new sandals. My budget is more shoezone than designer and I'm looking for comfy and practical (for camping and beach trips hopefully) but not grannyish. Anyone seen any bargains?

@Jeezitneverends I love both those things from Zara. I've now fallen down the rabbit hole which is their website and I think you are going to cost me a fortune ;)

Definitely not sandals weather here with a showery 13 degrees.

bows101 · 13/04/2024 14:31

I will be living in this and sandals all summer.
As I get obsessed when I love something 😅 I've also got it in black and have a plain beige and a white one I found on vinted for £6 each and brand new!

I'm looking for the unicorn of shorts - some that don't make my (short) legs look ridiculous I'm a size 10 and 5'6, but at least 5' of that is body (well, that is how it looks), so I'm haunting this thread for some shorts that aren't too wide cut (inside which I flap about) or too tight (ridiculous looking) with a high waist and which don't make me look as though my buttocks are dragging on the ground.

bendmeoverbackwards · 13/04/2024 14:39

I was still buying summer stuff in September last year so don’t ’need’ anything. But I’m always after my holy grail of dresses -

Above knee
Short sleeves (but not puff)
Not baggy/shapeless
Preferably v neck
Not floral - either a plain colour or a small print

If anyone sees anything that fits the bill please let me know!

@Jeezitneverends love the cardigan, what’s the sizing like? I often find Zara comes up a bit small.

BigPretty · 13/04/2024 14:44

I've ordered some bits off vinted. Two jumpsuits, a dress and some ballet flats.

It's beautiful weather here today though and I tried wearing a dress but I'm just not psychologically ready for summer dresses yet 😂. Still in jeans but with just a top and no coat / jumper, which is lovely

I’m 5’7” and a 12/14 and the Large is perfect

TheGirlattheBack · 13/04/2024 15:04

@Saurus72 I saw the Maison Hotel range in a local boutique a couple of weeks ago but they didn’t have my size in anything. The quality looked lovely, especially the quilting and embroidery on some of the pieces. Definitely wouldn’t be disappointed if you ordered from them.

Oops 🤣

I do like Zara, the one in my town closed down so when I’m in town which has one it gets a bit ££££…I find the pictures on their website often don’t do the clothes justice
