Everyday bag for under £2k

It’s my 30th and I’d like a nice everyday bag. Thinking something along the lines of a Mulberry Lily in brown or black with gold hardware but open to other suggestions. I want something classic and easy to throw on as often rushing around after young children! Big enough to put my phone, keys and a lipstick/small perfume.

Suggestions please!

I have an orange Lily and a black Darley. I prefer using the Darley because the leather strap is slightly longer and more comfortable than the chain.

I would also recommend the oak colour as it goes with more clothing.

I recently bought the LV Diane and I absolutely love it. Fits a good amount and feels stylish but still practical - currently pregnant and wanted something that will see me through post birth when I will be carrying round a lot of bits and bobs!

I have a small Bayswater tote (not made anymore) I love and also bought standard size is lovely? Though I tend to use my LV never full more. Have loads of Mulberry bags but bought an Alexa last week (had one years ago) and every man and his dog have commented on her! Asked to hold have a look, all the girls at work are drooling over her . Lily gorgeous but I use mine as evening/going out bag? The Gucci disco in black similar and lovely?

A lot of brands start at over 2k now but maybe something from Gucci. Toteme also have great bags

I wouldn't class a Lily as an everyday bag to be honest, they're a bit dressy in my opinion.

I’m really tempted by an Alexa! Just not sure if it’s as timeless as Darley or Lily.

Always wanted a neverfull but if I buy a big bag then DH will make me carry his wallet, keys, phone and kitchen sink 🙄

I love mulberry! I have a Bayswater / mini Bayswater / a satchel type one and a Darley. They're all lovely and the leather wears so well! I do enjoy wearing them and using them, they're practical and look nice. Mine are all a bit older though so guessing it's still the same now!

I love my Loewe puzzle bag for everyday wear, it's cute and looks a bit different. Again great quality.

GingerIsBest · 29/01/2024 16:17

I have long wanted a Chloe Marcie.

carrielou2007 · 29/01/2024 16:33

I’ve got two Darley satchels I love them and Antony’s as I like cross body, the Lily I find not really an every day bag as the chain digs in. I have a medium croc Lily which is forgo but too heavy sadly. The Alexa how about a mini one? Mine was a discontinued colour (very similar to oxblood my fav!) and was such a good price I put the black one that I wanted down and bought her instead!

carrielou2007 · 29/01/2024 16:34

Oh sorry the Gucci disco now discontinued but you could buy pre-loved

buckingmad · 29/01/2024 18:18

Thanks everyone. I did wonder about the chain digging in! We’ve got a mulberry store in town so will have to go in and try them. Really really tempted by a mini Alexa.

themusingsofaninsomniac · 29/01/2024 19:52

Isabelle70 · 29/01/2024 19:54

My current day to day bag is the LV NoeNoe in the black empriente leather. Can get the essentials in and snacks if needs be!

You know you could just scroll past? Some people do have £2k to spend on a bag.

Talk66talk · 29/01/2024 20:19

Polene have some nice bags! Never bought one though. Coach Tabby do some lovely ones too.

geminiflanagan · 29/01/2024 20:19

I have a mini Alexa and I love it - but I don't find it 'quick' to access. The lock and the super strong magnets on the straps, and it's really quite small so things need a bit of a juggle to fit in there.

I love it nonetheless, but if you are looking for quick and practical it might not be the one..

I have been eyeing up the Honey & Toaat Libby for a while. Also the Mulberry Anthony as well

Toottooot · 29/01/2024 20:20

Keep an eye on the Mulberry site in the coming weeks. I received an email from them a few days ago about an upcoming sample sale in London. When this is on they normally sell outlet bags online. I got the Lily I’d wanted for ages for only £600 last year.
