Everyday bag for under £2k

buckingmad · 29/01/2024 00:48

It’s my 30th and I’d like a nice everyday bag. Thinking something along the lines of a Mulberry Lily in brown or black with gold hardware but open to other suggestions. I want something classic and easy to throw on as often rushing around after young children! Big enough to put my phone, keys and a lipstick/small perfume.

Suggestions please!

You know you could just scroll past? Some people do have £2k to spend on a bag.

As could you

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 29/01/2024 20:23

@craigth162 I commented as I had something to add.

Re the Mulberry sale, it's still on at the minute but there's not much left.

@buckingmad that last post wasn’t very nice.
you didn’t need to comment.

Pockets and a rucksack for £20.

RockaLock · 29/01/2024 21:02

Oh come now.

On every single handbag thread where the OP is looking to spend a decent amount of money, there are posters that love to make snarky comments about how they could never spend that much on a bag; they can't believe that anyone would spend that amount; what a waste of money etc

I say, good on OP for pushing back for once on comments like that!

OP, I have an original Alexa that is very a bit battered now, because it is very soft leather, but I still love it and use it often, and a new mini Alexa, which I also love. You can fit a surprising amount in the mini, although yes it can take a bit of organising to do so.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 29/01/2024 21:06

Completely agree @RockaLock. God forbid some people should be able to afford nice things.

Datingquez · 29/01/2024 21:08

I can afford it
I could afford more
But I prefer to be smart

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 29/01/2024 21:09

How are there still so many adults surprised to learn that some people have more disposable income than others?

RockaLock · 29/01/2024 21:12

And there we go again.

If you don't want to spend £2k on a handbag, why not just leave the thread to the people that do, instead of coming on just to make nasty comments Hmm. It's like bitchy school cliques all over again.

Disappointed noones suggested the OP buys a bag for life & donates the rest to charity yet. Charity donations are usually a favourite on these threads

RockaLock · 29/01/2024 21:13

That's very true, @Redglitter, but give it time!

You prefer to be rude and patronising.

And also fail to realise that for some people, many people £2k really is not a lot of money.

It is the style and beauty board 😊 people would post in AIBU if they wanted to be yelled at for their choices 😅

Also agree. This board is the place to be able to discuss these types of things without getting shit for it!

If it's not for you, or you think the cost is crazy, just don't comment. People shouldn't be made to feel bad for wanting something they can afford or as a gift if they have the means.

RockaLock · 29/01/2024 21:33

A thousand curses on the PP that mentioned the LV Diane!

I had been thinking of buying a Croisette, but I am now very tempted by the Diane - of course it is even more spendy. Grr.

themusingsofaninsomniac · 29/01/2024 21:37

If anyone wants the Gucci disco design, the Gucci blondie seems so similar just from looking online. It looks like it just has a different finish.

But it's mad to see how much they have gone up in price since I bought mine.. eeep

Money still doesn't buy class I see.

BuntyCollocks · 29/01/2024 21:39

I have the mini Alexa in oak heavy grain and I love her. However, I treated myself to the regular in cornflower for when I need to fit a bit more in ie travelling and she is also stunning. My everyday is an Anthony - crossbody, no messing around easy to access. My small zipped Bayswater is far too heavy for every day.

Ooh, I was gutted when they discontinued this as I wanted another colour (I have it in black) but not sure I like the finish on the Blondie and it's way more ££ than I paid four years ago.

Not quite the same as Gucci and LV but Fairfax & Favor do some lovely bags for just a few hundred and are a bit more exclusive and unknown than the big names. I’m currently loving my Windsor, it’s gorgeous.

@buckingmad
