I am enjoying all of the talk about new coats and wool content. I have a shamefully large array of coats of many different fabrics, including some pure wool. I have two pure wool Toast coats, one from many, many years ago (a navy, army like coat) and a pink wool coat from about 7 years ago that needs a bit of a toast repair. Like others I am quite attracted by a wool mix: in my head at least that makes it less attractive to moths?

I have just ordered a camel coat from John Lewis’ And/Or range, only £68 and 100% recycled polyester 🙄. I quite fancy a camel coat for when I am wearing all black and it will go with the lovely flat form Chelsea boots that I have just got from M and S which are another bargain as they are leather and look and feel very good. I will post links separately.

I am unexpectedly starting a new work role after thinking I had hung up my work hat and so these two new additions will be part of my going to work wear.

Thank you @ToastCosILoveIt

Nothing to add at this stage apart from I might have to order the orange graphic yoke sweater, it's calling my name. I tried it on last week and I'm still thinking about it!

@AFingerofFudge , I tried that on a month or so ago and it is a definite purchase for me. It is in my Toast basket as we speak. I tried the small on and thought it came up big so will stick with that as opposed to my usual medium. How did you find the sizing? It will be very cosy for winter: I tried it on in sweltering weather and so couldn’t bring myself to buy it at that point.

AFingerofFudge · 26/09/2023 18:29

Yes it does come up big @ToastCosILoveIt. I am currently a size 14 and the medium was perfect, that's what I have on in the photo.

ToastCosILoveIt · 26/09/2023 18:30

You look great in it @AFingerofFudge , it truly is a beautiful jumper.

Thanks for the new thread @ToastCosILoveIt.

I’m also loving that orange sweater. But I already have two orange sweaters. The grey is also lovely but I think it would wash me out. I will definitely try both at some point though.

AmethystMoonShine · 26/09/2023 18:49

Thank you for the new thread @ToastCosILoveIt and I’m also coveting that orange knit @AFingerofFudge. That colour just screams autumn!

Ta for thread!

That orange jumper is very nice @AFingerofFudge and does not make you look like a pumpkin, which it would me.

AFingerofFudge · 26/09/2023 19:01

@lordloveadog that made me laugh out loud. I hope I won't be channelling any pumpkin vibes Grin

smallshinybutton · 26/09/2023 19:02

What's a Toastie? Is it for sharing jumpers etc? I've been wearing a nice H&M sweatshirt from a couple of years back today.

Blingstar · 26/09/2023 19:03

@ToastCosILoveIt can you post a link to the M&S boots please.

neveradullmoment99 · 26/09/2023 19:15

Another new thread! Wow! Thankyou @ToastCosILoveIt

Countmeout · 26/09/2023 19:15

Thank you for the new thread @ToastCosILoveIt .

Love that orange sweater . But I think I will try the grey first as I think it might go better with some of my trousers. Although I don’t suit grey I’m hoping the colours will lift it enough. That’s useful sizing information .

I have a straight knitted skirt @ScottishMouse bought in a sale 3/4 years ago, it popped up as a really random item, must have been archive. It’s burgundy, I’m not sure I would describe it as ribbed. It’s really heavy. I wear it with a Francis T or a blouse just left loose. I’ve just bought a cumin jumper which will look lovely with it I think.

I love that outfit @OftenOrange .

neveradullmoment99 · 26/09/2023 19:17

Oh I contemplated that jumper today in the grey. I do love the orange but I love all the different colours through the grey wool. I have lots of Toast jumpers and hesitant to buy right now until the weather is properly cold. Otherwise it will just lie in my wardrobe in a box.

ilovecherries · 26/09/2023 19:18

Thank you Toast It’s so cold here today that I’m finding it very hard to believe it will be warm in Spain next week so packing is feeling like an act of hope and faith! I also have far too many very lovely dresses so choosing is stressing me out somewhat. What if I get there and discover the most perfect item was left at home 😳🙄?

Countmeout · 26/09/2023 19:19

Found a picture of one on eBay. It says merino . Is yours like this @ScottishMouse but a different colour?

Where are you going first @ilovecherries ? It’s consistently 25-26 in the Malaga area. Usually feels even warmer. I am so looking forward to it. Wearing nothing but a cotton dress is absolutely bliss.

And the he prize for starting a new thread is stravaig’s thank-you, which always makes me smile!

OftenOrange · 26/09/2023 19:23

@clowniform Your boots are beautiful, did they pass the comfort test?
@ToastCosILoveIt Would also love to see the MS boots please

@lordloveadog Blanket stitch coat is a real forever piece because it’s so unusual and arty looking, what a lovely thing to own for special outings
@AFingerofFudge The orange jumper is irresistible, warm and cosy and it looks so stylish.

Edited

Fly into Malaga and a few days in Mijas Costa tide-compress then heading to Tarifa, Cadiz and Sevilla, back to Malaga then another loop to Grenada and Córdoba, possibly Valencia but that might be too far.

ScottishMouse · 26/09/2023 19:26

Yes @Countmeout , that looks like my skirt but mine is navy. I’m just thinking it might look lovely with the grey flecked Donegal sweater, maybe with a hint of white shirt peeking out beneath. Hmmmmm….

Stoic123 · 26/09/2023 19:40

@ToastCosILoveIt - thanks for the new thread.

The orange Donegal is lovely but I've just succumbed to a Navygrey jumper that is a match for a jumper that I wore to death about 30 years ago (finally!!).

The bank account needs a little rest but I am happy.

@ilovecherries , I am going to Lisbon in a week and a half for 7 days and I expect I will take at least seven dresses (most of them Toast), plus some shorts, a skirt and a pair of trousers. So, in your shoes I would be going with option C. I like a bit of choice on holiday and never ever where everything I have bought with me. My DH is used to me and, on the whole, humours my foibles around clothes!
