I was thinking, is it almost time for the donate initiative thing?? Says October. Interested to see what’s coming!!!

ScottishMouse · 27/09/2023 11:40

Just popped into my local store to buy some gloves as a birthday gift for my sis (which they didn’t have in stock 🙄), and they were unpacking boxes for the next drop - tomorrow! There are some plain Donegal sweaters, lots of knitwear accessories, some cord dresses, trousers and lots of menswear apparently. Only thing I spied was a cord workwear dress in green and blue, it looked a bit like the beat denim workwear one perhaps.

Dee1224 · 27/09/2023 11:42

As seen on Jodie Comer recently @smallshinybutton!

Tomorrow! Exciting.

im well pleased today, got a Rae cashmer jumper in Jade from Vinted for a nice price. They are very small, this is an extra large and it’s perfect!

PretLea · 27/09/2023 11:49

@ScottishMouse if you look on the AW catalogue, towards the end there is a picture of a model in the neat dress but in blue cord. I think it might come in the tent green too, but might be mistaken.

@OftenOrange would you mind posting a link to the Folk trainers you mentioned?

Countmeout · 27/09/2023 11:57

@Laska2Meryls . Someone on the other thread asked about getting a t shirt to the Thorn green shade . I might like to know too. Could you possible suggest colours for dying? Thanks in anticipation.

Snowyowl78 · 27/09/2023 12:04

@Countmeout @Laska2Meryls twas me!

OftenOrange · 27/09/2023 12:04

@PretLea
I can’t do links but they are easy to find on Folk Clothing.
i just had a good look, not many sizes available and the largest is 38 , they recommend sizing down a size .

Is that the paper catalogue @PretLea ? Mine got dumped into the recycling (not by me, I might add) ☹️ It sounds like that one though. Shame as I don’t think that shape will work for me, the colours were lovely.
I tried on the Donegal sweater in grey and have firmly crossed it off my list as the neck was too high and constricting and very itchy. I am fussy about itchy wool though, so I’m sure it will be fine for others. That makes space for a new wishlist item tomorrow though 😆

Hello toasty new thread!
@OftenOrange The boots I tried are v comfy but I don't love the style, and I would like to feel the way you do about the Fracaps! Really need (ok, 'need') some chunky ankle boots though, and have already rejected dozens of candidates this year, so may end up settling.

Cool boots @ToastCosILoveIt and @neveradullmoment99 although was anyone else deeply confused after clicking the 'green' option on never's? 🤔 Someone on these threads also posted some great M&S fisherman sandals from this summer which is how I got interested in their footwear.
BTW ToastCos always wonder if your username is cos as in 'because' or as in COS the shop? I just spent far too long looking for items from a wishlist collage on the Toast site when it was in fact COS. 🫠

Edited

Hi there, yes ToastCos is a reference to my love of Cos too although I think they've gone off the boil a bit in the last year or two.

@Snowyowl78 - I got an email yesterday about the Toast Circle/pop up events at the Notting Hill shop Thursday 5th - Sunday 15th October.

I read it quickly and was probably being a bit thick, but at first it seemed that ‘swapping’ was only available on the 15th. However, elsewhere it said that ‘circle’ would be on three days, but now I can’t find that bit!

I would like to go but I don’t know if I can get to that branch 😿

Dee1224 · 27/09/2023 12:12

In other news, I seem to have got an orange bleach stain on my ‘new’ linen dress from the last Circle 🙀🙀🙀. Either that or it was already on there and I didn’t notice😿.

It’s just below the hip at the front of the dress - quite noticeable. I am wondering if Toast repair could suggest anything sensible. I would settle for a black ‘darn’ over it - anything else would look ridiculous given the placement.

Dee1224 · 27/09/2023 12:14

On a related note: How long do Toast repair take to get in touch?

I handed over a dress ten days ago and was told someone would call to discuss before doing anything, but I haven’t heard from anyone.

Laska2Meryls · 27/09/2023 12:18

Oh I missed that @PretLea and @Snowyowl78 ..sorry
What I did was start with chalk white tee and mixed half a drum of Dylon emerald green and about a dessert spoon of Dylon paradise blue.. Then I put it in the washer for only an 45min cycle on 30 deg. ( the longer you dye the darker it come out)
I am fairly blasé ( more gung ho!!) about what colour it comes out though..But in this case it was a good Thorn green dupe. Photo here (creased from being rolled up) but I have nothing actual Toast thorn green with me to show you the comparison.
I tried this also with a pistachio Emma tee and and it was definitely more yellow..
However I cant guarantee that if you do the same that you'll get the same !!

Snowyowl78 · 27/09/2023 12:21

Ooh lovely thank you @Laska2Meryls it looks good to me.
can I ask, when you say half a drum of Dylon emerald green do you mean half of the portion you buy in the machine dye?

ive bought a cream workwear shirt and I’m trying to make it into the thorn work wear shirt

Countmeout · 27/09/2023 12:26

Thanks @Laska2Meryls .

re the repair @Dee1224 i think it depends when the repair specialist is working. She wasn’t in the shop I left mine in when I was there last year. Mine was a simple darn though. I wasn’t offered a telephone consultation. It took about 4/5 weeks I think from memory for it to be done and posted back. It seemed long because it was a favourite item.

Dee1224 · 27/09/2023 12:31

Thanks @Countmeout . I left it at a non-repair shop for them to send off. The assistant seemed a bit uncertain and insisted the repair person would call. I said I didn’t mind if the damaged part was removed and made good, (it’s a frayed collar), or mended.

I think I will give it another week or so and then call the shop to see if they have actually sent it off.

Did you have to pay for it to be sent back to you? I was told I would have to go in, (not my favourite option as it’s a three- four hour round trip🙀

Snowyowl78 · 27/09/2023 12:36

@Dee1224 i dropped something at bath, it took 3 weeks and I paid postage for them to send it back to me

Countmeout · 27/09/2023 12:42

Yes @Dee1224 i paid postage to have it returned £4.95 which I think is what they charge for sending something from a shop. I am nowhere near a Toast shop. I left it in a shop that did have a repair specialist. I paid at the time I left it in for the postage.

I love it!

PretLea · 27/09/2023 13:30

Thanks @OftenOrange I’ll have a look, I’ve not bought from them before.

@ScottishMouse yes, the paper catalogue. Here’s a photo of the image. The blue colour does look beautiful.

PretLea · 27/09/2023 14:48

@neveradullmoment99 it was included in previous/most recent drop. I did end up buying it, because it was the first Maya colour that really appealed to me. I thought that the fabric is quite thin for AW, but lovely on.

Brillenbar47 · 27/09/2023 14:53

It looks the same style as the neat denim dress

Brillenbar47 · 27/09/2023 14:55

I mean the mid blue cord in the paper catalogue!
