It looks a lovely fabric. I have already got the seersucker check one. Ive still to wear it.

@ilovecherries Cordoba is one of my favourite places. The history is so fascinating. The mosque with the high gothic cathedral in the middle is such a shock. It was a university before Oxford and scholars travelled from all over the old world to study there, in the 1100's. Before easyJet. In the late winter and early spring the streets smell of oranges which fall off the trees. And you can get a little known delicacy (little known even in Spain) called salmoreco. You may be able to tell I am a little jealous!

PretLea · 27/09/2023 15:11

@neveradullmoment99 it’s a navy blue with dark navy (thick and thin) vertical stripes. Absolutely lovely.

Countmeout · 27/09/2023 16:01

I like that dress in the poplin but not keen on the twill fabric.
I do like the wrap cardigan. And the sloppy cashmere roll necks.

PretLea · 27/09/2023 16:41

@Countmeout I also really like the wrap cardigan. I have never bought twill before - might I ask what your reservation is? I do love that dress, so just wondering…

Countmeout · 27/09/2023 16:52

I have this skirt which is the same fabric @PretLea . I always worry it will get a greasy mark on it and it will be hard to shift. Have been known to drop things 😬. I’m not sure how it will wash, haven’t washed it as I tend to take it off when I come home. It’s cupro /viscose not twill twill. I love the shape of the dress though. To be fair the skirt swishes beautifully.

Just noticed the dress is dry clean. Off to check my skirt. I don’t do dry cleaning.

Laska2Meryls · 27/09/2023 16:58

@Snowyowl78 yes I used just half of a pack of dylon machine dye and a spoonful of the blue ( put both into an old tupperware pot and chucked it in the machine.. I was thinking after I wrote that ( it was a few months ago that I did mine.. ) it was definitely a mix of the emerald green and blue.. but I am not really sure of the proportions but think paint mixing .. I did post them at the time ( maybe the thread before last? ) .. I do know that it was a very quick wash time though.. because the dye only needs to come in contact with the garment a short time otherwise it will be too dark.. .. if you are brave .. go for it ! Remember though that if the top isnt garment dyed ( the chalk Emma definitely is ) you cannot guarantee that the thread will take the colour

The skirt has washing instructions @PretLea .

Is that the plastic ball @Laska2Meryls or something else.

Dee1224 · 27/09/2023 17:13

Thanks @Countmeout - postage makes sense.

Is this new? Noticed it yesterday!

It’s amazing, I’ve had it on today, really comfy wear …

OftenOrange · 27/09/2023 17:47

@PretLea @Countmeout I have the same skirt and have washed it with good results. It’s one of those that transforms when ironed, like @Countmeout I love it.

No1Mousie · 27/09/2023 18:00

@neveradullmoment99 Ooh! I have this and love it so much. Fabric is quite thin, but it’s a delight to wear.

Totally off my wish list too. I don't do dry clean either!

PretLea · 27/09/2023 18:07

It’s a no for me too then @Countmeout @neveradullmoment99 It really does look beautiful though, possibly more of an occasion dress especially if dry clean only.

clowniform · 27/09/2023 18:11

Nothing in the new drop for me, but I was wondering if anyone had tried these cords from an earlier one? Any comments on quality, sizing etc?

I think any 'dry clean' warning is to play it safe since viscose can shrink dramatically when washed. The material wouldn't be damaged by water, but maybe they're thinking the gathering may go a bit funny?

Laska2Meryls · 27/09/2023 18:11

@Countmeout yes the plastic ball..
I hope that you get a good result, but it is a gamble.. you should get a nice blue green but I cant guarantee Thorn !! I always worry about giving dye advice , because as I said , I am a bit gung ho and ' lets see what happens ' - I'm the same with cooking also !

It only goes up to 14? 😡Toast are definitely sizing people out !!!!!

clowniform · 27/09/2023 18:15

That's a beautiful shade @Laska2Meryls ! Thank you for sharing your dyeing exploits previously too, you inspired me to give it a try with a sale Uniqlo denim jacket and I love the result!

Laska2Meryls · 27/09/2023 18:25

Oh Snap!! @neveradullmoment99 🤣

No1Mousie · 27/09/2023 18:28

@Laska2Meryls I noticed that. and the annoying thing is that the sizing is so out . I got the 10 and I’m a good healthy 14 irl.

Laska2Meryls · 27/09/2023 18:30

I have that skirt also @Countmeout in dark green ( have only worn it a couple of times, which is a bit of a waste tbh as is so lovely and haven't washed it either)
