An opportunity to discuss styling all those clothes we have on temporary loan.

Love the intro!

ilovecherries · 27/07/2023 21:17

That’s annoying about your Emma laska. I bloody hate unreliable sizing.

What a lot to catch up on today!

@faustina, so sorry to hear about your eBay drama. I once had a similar issue and eBay sided with the seller. When they sent the item back, it was damaged (although had been perfect when I sent it). So annoying! But glad you got good ca from ebay.

greenteaandmarshmallows · 27/07/2023 21:18

Missed this was style and beauty initially and genuinely thought it was about nice toast

ScottishMouse · 27/07/2023 21:19

Totally agree with everyone here and on Instagram about the new initiative. My first thought was the same…why would I give them my decent condition clothes that I could sell on eBay for them to profit?
So cheeky!

Stoic123 · 27/07/2023 21:19

Thanks @ilovecherries

Alpacasoft · 27/07/2023 21:20

What!?
We GIVE our clothes back to toast so they can sell them again .
Haha checks it's not 1st April
Whoever thought that little gem up is actually a genius, it's like Slimmers world for clothes, they flog you the same thing over and over again.
One thing puzzles me
If it's resource intensive how is that helpful?
Swapping, selling on, donating so that someone else can use I can understand.
Surely the point is that it's less intensive to reuse clothes than to remake them?

We are not discriminatory. A nice sourdough toast is also acceptable. Or a toasted crumpet…

Thanks for the thread @ilovecherries - and for the sympathy @ScottishMouse . At least I didn't lose the money,

That must have been the quickest we've filled a thread, no?

Laska2Meryls · 27/07/2023 21:24

I thought id get political with my withdrawn thread title jic Toast were reading.

I am So pissed off with new sizing because I have just received a new Navy Emma tee in XL and its significantly smaller than the last one I ordered a few week ago in L ! Also the fabric is so thin compared to last seasons ...Ill post a photo tomorrow of the comparison..

Also The Trousers.. Cotton Linen Canvas Wide Leg Trousers | Parchment ..These only just fit on the waist but as my DH said ' like a whole camp of Scout tents' below!!🤣 .. They are quite simply totally enormous .. we could all fit in them !!
I have no idea what Toast are doing with their sizes.. I may be being phased out I think ... Am Size 14 /16 on top 36E . I used to buy M or L and now XL is often too small 😞..

ScottishMouse · 27/07/2023 21:24

While we’re on the subjects of both saltwater sandals and unreliable sizing, has anyone who had them in the past bought some new ones recently and thought the sizing is a bit smaller? I got two pairs in the post today (different colours), same style as I have worn for years (maybe 3 different pairs over the years), and I can barely get them on. I remember them being tight at first and stretching a lot, but I don’t remember having to force myself into them like Cinderella’s sisters! I have also measured the soles against my old ones and they are a smidge shorter and a smidge narrower. Not sure whether to keep them or give up on finding any sandals that work for me (though with this weather, who needs sandals?!)

Stoic123 · 27/07/2023 21:26

I am quite intrigued to see a) If they get any donations and b) the prices they then charge.

You made me laugh so much with your dh quote @Laska2Meryls
I was the same with the pleating on both the paper bag trousers in dhal and the fisherman type ones with the belt. Just not for me. Good to know. Thats £185 crossed off my wish list.

Stoic123 · 27/07/2023 21:31

@Laska2Meryls - I quite like the oversized look of the trousers. My hips are very wide though (but lots of room on waist for me).

Agree with the bust issue. I like the look of the sun dresses but keep on being put off by the tight bust reviews.

They will always get suckers who are completely gullible and go for it hook, line and sinker.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/07/2023 21:35

Can you really return stuff to be fixed by post? I thought you had to hand things in. If that is the case, I have a dress that is ripped that I would love fixed. I may contact Toast to see.
As for my voucher, Toast have send me a new code. Infact two new codes with expiry dates on them. They also said I can reuse them if I need to change size with the discount. Not sure how I would do that. Maybe that is why they have given me two codes?

neveradullmoment99 · 27/07/2023 21:37

I think I may order the Maeve dress tomorrow but I am a bit afraid that this dress is in the sale as it was in uniform research's sale so I might wait that one out and order something different.

ilovecherries · 27/07/2023 21:39

Yes, you can post them in never. IIRC I had to pay postage both ways but even so it was a really great service.

Has anyone got the Fracap Monkey boots? Love them with the green laces and Geo Teal socks as posted on the Kilver insta post.

That is great news. Did you email them first? Was it to the Edinburgh store?

neveradullmoment99 · 27/07/2023 21:41

I don't mind paying for postage.
