I’m going to watch the live now but hope I hate it all because I have no more money!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 17/08/2023 14:10

I don’t trust myself to watch it at all, I’ve just ordered the Suki panelled trousers everyone was raving about yesterday 🤦‍♀️.

Snowyowl78 · 17/08/2023 14:21

She did look good in that needlecord dress

im off to my local grocers to nick all their onion skins!

Saurus72 · 17/08/2023 14:43

@ScottishMouse When something is just perfect I really think you just need to go for it. You’ll be wearing it for years, so no point waiting, plus you seem really thoughtful about what you buy. from what you say the crinkle dress has been a consideration for years.

I totally relate to you saying you need to stop spending - I’ve just added up my spending since the sales started in June - £1200 😬. However, most of these things were on my wish list - I’ve just brought forward purchasing some things (jumpers, knee boots) because some lovely ones came my way.

I need to stop spending for a bit now too…

👋 from a very rare poster.

I've just watched that Toast Live (which I rarely do tbh) and LOVED it. Katrina is absolutely lovely and was great to see how she styled those pieces. I'd been eyeing up the needlecord dress and the grey stripe jumper already ... but now I'm also looking at those denim trousers and the square toe boots. Oops.

Oh dear, I just made an unplanned Toast purchase in an unplanned store visit. The new striped crinkle dress. I have always been between sizes in the crinkle dresses so have tried many but never purchased. This is new sizing so a little (but not loads) smaller and the medium fitted so perfectly that I couldn’t leave it behind.
My credit card has taken a bashing lately, I am going to need to stop shoping for a while now.

@ScottishMouse what is the colouring like on that dress, if you don’t mind me asking? It says navy, but that blue stripe doesn’t seem navy to me. Or is the darker stripe the navy one?

Countmeout · 17/08/2023 16:14

The cord dress looked lovely on the video and the striped jumper which had already caught my eye. Just not sure how useful the colours in it would be to me.

I had another closer look on the website and I’ve answered my own question. Will do my best to go try it on at my local shop over the weekend.

Snowyowl78 · 17/08/2023 17:35

@Saurus72 where did you get your knee boots? I’m in the market for some flat ones this autumn

dudsville · 17/08/2023 17:37

You really suit that tank @ilovecherries ! Maybe that other colour will pop up at some point?

I'm embarrassed to say i went down a vinted hole last boggy and ordered a few toast things. It's stupid as i can't return them and I'm not at up to sell things. And also i don't need anything.

Today i wore the space check tiered dress and felt glamorous, but i had a hot flush so it's one wear and then in for washing, which is annoying.

Only a few post left till we need a new thread. Will go and do it and be back in a minute.

So I have made some unexpected purchases too following an unscheduled visit to Toast. Firstly the Indigo Cotton Twill Wide Leg Trousers: goodness they are beautiful on. I wasn’t expecting to like them as I think there was discussion up thread about them but they fall beautifully and the big pockets on the side give a utilitarian look. I am a 12 and the medium only just fitted: wondering if I should have tried the large on…

I also bought the Boat Neck Wool Sweater in sapphire. I hadn’t expected to like it so much but was drawn by the lovely blue colour. It comes up large so a small was plenty big enough as the medium looked too big as opposed to just baggy.

I am also going to buy the. Dotty print ginger crepe blouse: tried the 8 and the 12 but no 10 in store, She said it is a very popular. It is quite roomy so size down.

I heard the sales assistant tell another customer that a new box of stock had arrived but they hadn’t unpacked it yet. I wonder what is in it….

I haven’t watched the Toast live video yet, will do so now.

Here we go - brand new thread. We can learn to juggle in a bit of everyday theatre. We can forage or paint walls in our lovely clothes. We can emulate Soviet Librarian. And if all else fails, in a nod to circular fashion, we can simply had our clothes back and start again. https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/4874377-toasties-consider-mushroom-foraging-librarianship-or-simply-handing-back-our-purchases-for-resell-or-not
