An opportunity to discuss styling all those clothes we have on temporary loan.

@Noodle421 im addicted to Vinted. I sell quite alot too though so justified. Am never out of the post office!

Stoic123 · 16/08/2023 17:22

Another Suki Fan.

I got them in the Large (HS 14) and would have gone down a size but it had sold out (bought in a sale - non Toast stockist). I don't wear my tops tucked in (short waisted) so not a problem but definitely go down if you do.

They are dreamy to wear.

Thank you. All the trouser love. I’m going to have to get a pair

While we are on the subject of knitwear (up thread) - I can highly recommend small British company Charl Knitwear. Frankie used to be a designer for Burberry ( I think, certainly one of the large fashion houses ) and left after becoming disillusioned with the fashion industry. Her knitwear is inspired by Norfolk. Her jumpers are beautiful, of the highest quality and similar in price to Navy Grey. She’s recently branched out to dresses. She’s on Instagram. Ahistoryofarchitecture (Erica Kim), often styles her knitwear, not so much recently but has done regularly. Erica’s Instagram is worth a look, beautiful clothes, styled imaginatively. I’m not in any way connected to Charl knit business, just a happy customer.

The Suki trousers - I’m a high street UK 12, do you think I’d be best ordering a small ?

Snowyowl78 · 16/08/2023 18:25

@Noodle421 hmm maybe, I am a 12-14 and I have medium and they are very roomy. What would you normally buy innToast trousers?

I used to be an old Toast Size 10 for everything. Now the sizing has changed I’m not so sure. I’ve recently bought a Toast dress in size 12 and it’s roomy but a good fit. Tried on another dress and I was a UK 14. Haven’t tried on or bought trousers recently.

I was scrolling online this morning through toast's current offerings, nursing the sense of loss that i didn't buy those ecru trousers a lot of you tried, and thought that one thing i appreciate about the sales is that they have several items they restock and put in sales, like the space check linen trousers, the white and blue billowy sleeved blouses, etc., so I'm going to keep my fingers crossed they restock those trousers so i can try them!

@dudsville , when I ran into Nikki Sher in the pub (she is head of buying at Toast) she said that only half the stock had been delivered in the trousers and so the other half will come online eventually. I have those trousers and I love them! I got chocolate on them on the first wear but some careful spot treatment of the stain remover has sorted that out!

Yes there was a jumper like that. Might be 2 years ago. Both a bit too hairy for me.

and there’s a crinkle skirt, https://www.toa.st/products/crinkle-cotton-skirt-black
I like that checked top they show with it, also there’s what looks like a Donegal wool sweater in grey and a grey roll neck pictured with it. I hope they have the roll neck in another colour I might wear, I have a couple of those from 4/5 years ago and really like them.

I love all of that outfit, especially the top.

Snowyowl78 · 16/08/2023 18:39

@Noodle421 i reckon maybe you’ll be fine with a small? I would always buy a 12 in Toast trousers- Gabi and Alix

I am a 12 on the high street and ordered the medium and the small and kept the small. They do stretch out with wear and the small is plenty big enough for me.

Noodle421 · 16/08/2023 18:48

@Snowyowl78 yes, thanks I’ll try the small and see how I get on. Lots of the reviews say they come up large

Noodle421 · 16/08/2023 19:02

Thank you. That’s made up my mind. Size small it is. Thanks everyone X

Noodle421 · 16/08/2023 19:03

I meant to tag you in @ToastCosILoveIt

PretLea · 16/08/2023 19:39

Oh no, do they stretch with wash and wear? I have a size that are pretty large on me - I’m not sure they’ll be wearable if they stretch at all. Should I try get a smaller size?

dudsville · 16/08/2023 19:40

Thanks for the additional reassurance @ToastCosILoveIt, you know it how goes, they might not even suit me but suddenly it's THE item that i need to live the perfect life.

ilovecherries · 16/08/2023 20:14

I think I need the parchment trousers too. I have an entire week home-alone next week so I can have as many parcels delivered as I want 😆. On the downside DD’s car is a spectacular MoT write off today. I’m horrified it’s so bad and she’s been driving about with it, especially as she had new brakes 12 weeks ago and you’d think they’d have noticed the chassis was falling to bits. Anyway, she’s only just rebuilding her business which was wrecked during covid and she can’t work without her car so the Bank of Mum and Dad will need to step up. That will probably put me on an enforced no-spend for the rest of the year.

Although by mumsnet rules she’s over 12 so we should probably just let her get on with it…

@ilovecherries love that tank. There is one on Vinted I'm watching but a reddish colour.

There’s a toast live at the mo!

It’s nice isn’t it. I bought it in blue too then sent it back thinking I might not wear it but in fact it’s been worn at least weekly all summer so I regret returning it.

I really loved the Live today - Katrina was lovely, the needle cord dress looked great on her, it’s inspired me to try it on. Her whole 70s vibe was fab - it took me back to A-level textiles when we did some natural dyeing 😊

ScottishMouse · 17/08/2023 13:48

Oh dear, I just made an unplanned Toast purchase in an unplanned store visit. The new striped crinkle dress. I have always been between sizes in the crinkle dresses so have tried many but never purchased. This is new sizing so a little (but not loads) smaller and the medium fitted so perfectly that I couldn’t leave it behind.
My credit card has taken a bashing lately, I am going to need to stop shoping for a while now.
