@Laska2Meryls

I thought id get political jic Toast were reading.
So pissed off with new sizing because I have just received a new Emma tee in XL and its significantly smaller than the last one orders a few week ago in L !

Quite right! The sizing will oust all those 14 and above. So annoying.

faustina · 27/07/2023 21:57

@Laska2Meryls - that is ridiculous if they're sizing out what must be a sizeable proportion of their customers

clowniform · 27/07/2023 22:05

It continues to baffle me that Toast decided to totally revamp their size label conventions without increasing standardisation even within the same garment, let alone garment type, then proceeded to explain it in a piecemeal and often contradictory way across multiple platforms and media, rather than just listing some key measurements for each item. I would even suggest the money saved from fewer returns might enable them to donate an extra 2% of proceeds to charity from their new ~Renewal~ ethical revolution.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 27/07/2023 22:20

Thanks for the new thread @ilovecherries .

I agree with you @clowniform I just can’t understand how Toast have come to their decision over the new sizing. How can something so simple as a tee be so difficult to standardise? Their returns must be a costly nightmare to manage.

It was so simple before. Buy a size smaller. End of.
Now I get the large, it's too big.
The medium is too small.
It's a pain.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/07/2023 22:31

Can't believe they've mucked about with the Emma tee!
I've not bought any in the new sizing.
I have bought the boatneck in large (14).
It's fine on the body but the neckline is too wide on me. Before the new sizing, the medium was perfect, even the neckline.

Saurus72 · 27/07/2023 22:34

Sizing really is a problem and agree it was easier before -size down once generally. And also yes re: lack of consistency within the same type of product. I’m still smarting from the navy boat neck tee being a completely different size/shape to the black one in the sale - and me not noticing til it was too late to return. Just…why?

I think one might be old stock with old sizing. The mistake they've made is selling the old stock a new together. Just why.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/07/2023 21:40

That is great news. Did you email them first? Was it to the Edinburgh store?

Yes, I phoned the store first and I think they gave me a number or code to put in the parcel and paid for the return postage over the phone. They told me the details they needed. Posted it off and back it came about two weeks later. Was only about 15-18 months ago so I’m guessing they still do it.

Checking in—thanks @ilovecherries

I thought I was in some strange dream this morning where circus attired lovelies wanted me to send my clothes to them but then realised I was in fact very awake and reading a real sincere email from our beloved Toast.

They do say the Aquarius full moon will bring surprises..

neveradullmoment99 · 27/07/2023 23:20

Just read the email back and I cannot believe the CF of it.

dudsville · 28/07/2023 01:20

Thanks for the greatest thread ever! @ilovecherries , also really enjoyed your thread title @Laska2Meryls , next time?

I'm just catching up. Annoyed i deleted such a corker of an email, I'm off to see if i can find it!

The sizing coupled with the weird circus collars has made me glad I've bought what i have when i have. I can envisage a time when toast no longer produce things i like, which if weird given its all i wear now!

dudsville · 28/07/2023 01:27

Just read the email. It so could have gone so well if they'd only made it an intenet exchange, especially as the physical in-store experiences of that circle thing haven't had good reviews on this thread. I could see people being up for an exchange, perhaps paying something to do so to cover the costs of that. Toast HQ, please contact me for my fee for this idea if you choose to use it, i shall put it towards a good cause.

Dee1224 · 28/07/2023 01:35

Thanks for the new thread @ilovecherries
@Laska2Meryls - great alternate title 🤣
@dudsville I read the email half awake first thing this morning and then again with an increasing sense of ‘what the actual…?🤣

greenteaandmarshmallows · 28/07/2023 06:33

Could you not just sell on ebay and donate the profits to charity if you wanted to do that yourself?

I don't know why I phrased thar as a question we all know we could

ScottishMouse · 28/07/2023 07:21

Have tried the saltwaters again this morning and just cannot jam my feet into them. I think after many years of saltwaters I may need to move on. My wide feet are obviously getting even wider.
What kind of sandals do you like with your Toast dresses? I cannot get Birkenstocks to work for me except for maybe the Eva Arizonas. What about plain black Tevas…is that a look? Camper also have a very similar pair called Match. Tried the Fracap Olas earlier this year and had to return as I knew when my feet swell in the heat (doesn’t even need to be that warm for this to happen) they would be too tight. Don’t know if I love the look of the Fracap Lina so much but they are definitely width adjustable.
What are you cool kids wearing with your Toast dresses??

Brillenbar47 · 28/07/2023 07:36

@ScottishMouse I have a few pairs of ancient greek sandals which I love

Brillenbar47 · 28/07/2023 07:37

Can I ask if anyone has the Anni cotton poplin dress from I think 2 years ago? If so what do you think of it please?

Could THIS be the Greatest Toast Thread Ever?
ScottishMouse · 28/07/2023 07:38

I’ve never heard of these @Brillenbar47 , I’m going to look them up. Thanks.
No Anni here I’m afraid.

mizu · 28/07/2023 09:00

Think I'm going to give up my saltwaters too after wearing them for years. This year they just felt too flat. I took them on holiday and never wore them.

ScottishMouse · 28/07/2023 09:06

Any idea what you might replace them with @mizu?

I've got novestas in a neutral khaki colour. Very useful.
That's a shame about the fracap sandals. The leather definitely stretches out.
It's strange how feet change. I've gone from a 5.5 to a 6 then to a 6.5 and very often a 7.

neveradullmoment99 · 28/07/2023 09:08

Have you thought of just sizing up.in the fracap?
