Evening Royal style and beauty fans.
Into the Carolean era, with more bling we hope! Also more state banquets?

Not a Royal but in the public eye, Sanna Marin, prime minister of Finland, was just on tv news.
I wondered ( very fleetingly and it was from a certain angle ) what Kate was doing at a European Heads of State meeting.
Sanna was very stylish.
She was in black skinny trousers snd a slightly off white jacket.

I loved that tartan overcoat she wore to the outdoor cinema thing - hope that comes out again. The colours were so beautiful!

Oh yes, the Holland Cooper trench. I loved that one!

Interesting article here about the Danish shenanigans www.theguardian.com/world/2022/oct/07/danish-royals-in-crisis-as-grandchildren-stripped-of-titles-queen-margrethe

Includes a picture of Margarethe and her sisters looking fab in the National dress of Greenland!

Thanks for posting that. Interesting read indeed.

That photo though! It's quite something.

House of Bruar country set

Or what I think we're now calling 'very county', thanks to Eau's mum.

Mum is honoured!
Apparently @Tassen's mum is familiar with the (clearly made up) phrase too 😂

i will be adopting that phrase from now on 😁

It's not made up. It is very old fashioned though. It's the kind of phrase you'd hear in an Agatha Christie novel. My DM (90) would say it too.

Tassen · 07/10/2022 23:40

Thanks @Maireas I'd completely forgot about the Kinsky Honeysuckle & the Connaught.
Wow 4 tiaras so is it greedy if I ask can I have the Khedive Egyptian Tiara too?
www.thecourtjeweller.com/2016/06/the-khedive-of-egypt-tiara.html

I only need 2 more then I'll have a tiara for everyday of the week 😂

It's important to stay fresh with a good rotation of tiaras, @Tassen 😘😂

Maireas · 08/10/2022 09:46

@Tassen - Khedive Egyptian tiara ✔️

From another thread, and a different conversation altogether...
@MotherofPearl - Wallis Simpson's emerald engagement ring ✔️

justasking111 · 08/10/2022 14:06

I really don't like Wallis engagement ring

MotherofPearl · 08/10/2022 14:16

Thanks @Maireas Grin

Good job I took it for myself then!

Eaumyword · 08/10/2022 14:23

I like it, but I like bold jewellery vs delicate options.

I used to hear that descriptor when I was a student in Scotland.
I'm not 90, but I am definitely a woman of a certain age so it could very well be old-fashioned now. I remember a social event (highland dress, reeling, etc.) being described as "very county Scottish."

Eaumyword · 08/10/2022 15:05

Hmm that's interesting - my mum is Scottish...

meateatingveggie · 08/10/2022 15:08

Camilla has gone a bit too M&S comfy dressing gown in this I think 🥴

Tempting.
I like her bag.

OP posts:
meateatingveggie · 08/10/2022 15:15

Is it her toiletries bag?

I'm don't want to be unkind, but really...

MotherofPearl · 08/10/2022 15:17

I can't quite make Cams' footwear there. It's not The Boots is it?

Agree the dress is too dressing gown adjacent.

meateatingveggie · 08/10/2022 15:21

Black wedges I think

Perfect description, especially with the bag. I have a red make-up bag that is very similar. I hate to say it, but she looks as though she is a guest in someone's house, headed to the bathroom to get ready for her day. 😃

KillingMeDeftly · 08/10/2022 15:57

Is Camilla's dress by Me + Em? It looks it. Sophie and Kate have a few pieces by the brand so maybe Cams thought she'd give it a go!

KillingMeDeftly · 08/10/2022 15:58

It is!! https://www.meandem.com/velour-drawstring-dress-indigo

Eaumyword · 08/10/2022 16:07

Love the colour and length, but it is too much with the zip, drawstring waist and oversized pockets.
Looks wonderfully comfy for a night in front of the TV and a box of Quality Street!
