Evening Royal style and beauty fans.
Into the Carolean era, with more bling we hope! Also more state banquets?

Carole Middleton is Kate's mother

Omg ! lol I wouldn’t know her if I passed her on the street. This must be a flattering photo or I want to know what face products she’s using 😀

KillingMeDeftly · 08/10/2022 21:48

I'm sure the photos on her company's Instagram are touched up to a certain extent but even so, Carole is an attractive woman!

She is lovely and no doubt just as attractive in RL with wrinkles 😊she just doesn’t look old enough in this photo to be Kate’s mum.

Completely on board with the Queen bringing in dressing gowns as going out wear.

paradyning · 08/10/2022 22:14

Totally looks like a Celtic and Co number

667TheNeighbourOfTheBeast · 08/10/2022 22:15

Can anyone tell me more about this this tiara that hasn’t been worn for ages, if this is in fact true, is it just not thought fashionable any more ?

Wow, Carole has a ridiculously youthful figure.
Love her outfit.
Amazing genetics, helped by I'd suspect a light touch with some botox and fillers, but fair play to her, she looks absolutely fabulous and about 30yrs younger than she has to be!
Good for her - they come across as a nice, normal family with a lot of love and stability.

Maireas · 08/10/2022 22:23

I'm not sure why the Strathmore tiara hasn't been worn recently. I think sometimes people have their favourites, and tiara wearing hasn't been much of a feature of recent royal life, sadly. I know Princess Margaret wore it.

Me, too. Just think of the design possibilities.

justasking111 · 08/10/2022 22:27

I think Margaret tiara was sold to help with death duties.

Yes, that was the Politmore. Stunning tiara.

And no one knows where it is these days. The buyer is a mystery.

Maireas · 08/10/2022 22:30

That should be Poltimore, sorry. Unknown buyer.

Apparently Barbour.

KillingMeDeftly · 08/10/2022 22:38

I don't like the Strathmore tiara, it's just not very nice compared to some of the others. Maybe that's why it's no longer worn!

It seems such a shame all these beautiful things just lying around somewhere and not being worn.
@SenecaFallsRedux wow that’s interesting that it’s sort of disappeared, presumably it’s quite recognisable to people in the know

It looks very 1920s flapper style to my untrained eye, the photo of the Queen mother as a young woman wearing it shows it sitting very low on her head. Not sure if I’m getting mixed up with another one but thought I read bits could be detached and worn as a brooch ?

Maireas · 08/10/2022 22:47

I wonder if the Strathmore had been broken down into smaller pieces.
Whoever bought the Politmore, I hope it gets worn.

If it’s still intact the Strathmore Rose tiara would make a beautiful tiara for Charlotte when she’s the daughter of the King and Queen!

NiqueNique · 08/10/2022 23:05

@667TheNeighbourOfTheBeast yes there are detachable brooches and I think there were other gemstones that could be added in as well!

NiqueNique · 08/10/2022 23:16

Just looked it up:

It was inherited by HMQ when the QM died, and apparently is still in her collection. It was exhibited in 2002 (year of QM’s death). The gemstones that could originally be set into it in place of the flowers were sapphires.

I love it worn low in that 20’s fashion, but it can also be worn higher on the head (it has two frames).

I really, really hope we’ll see some of the lesser used tiaras in years to come.

RomainingCalm · 08/10/2022 23:26

I think that I have MN claim (looks at @Maireas to confirm) to the Strathmore Rose tiara and wish there was more known about it. Would love to see it make a reappearance.

I think Queen Mary’s headdress/hat would suit Queen Camilla very nicely!

RomainingCalm · 08/10/2022 23:42

I could absolutely imagine Camilla in that! 😊

NiqueNique · 08/10/2022 23:45

She might just have pulled off that velvet/velour loungewear had she paired it with that hat, a gold bag and embroidered loafers/mules with exotic animal embroidery! Not to mention a huge diamond or two (or ten) Wink
