Evening Royal style and beauty fans.
Into the Carolean era, with more bling we hope! Also more state banquets?

Elizabeth, too, in her own way, is forever! What a legacy.

To pp who mentioned the Boucheron Loop Tiara, sadly it no longer exists, IIRC...

I think it was dismantled at some point. But you’re right, it would have looked great on Camilla. She really suits the huge, imposing ones!

meateatingveggie · 20/09/2022 21:48

Hello new thread.. wow, the last one filled up so quickly.

KillingMeDeftly · 20/09/2022 21:49

Who is foolish enough to dismantle a tiara?? Honestly...!

NiqueNique · 20/09/2022 21:50

Queen Mary did it a lot, apparently. Reworking pieces or taking them apart to create others. She certainly loved her jewellery.

Granny's chips!

Granny's chips!

Yes!!

meateatingveggie · 20/09/2022 21:52

I'll have her chips if there's no tiaras left!

CaveMum · 20/09/2022 21:53

If you haven’t seen it (and I’m probably preaching to the converted here!) but highly recommend watching the BBC documentary on the Crown Jewels that was made earlier this year - it’s back on iPlayer as part of the commemorations for HM.

Very interesting to hear them talk about the Koh-I-Noor diamond and how only women handle it, even in the cleaning!

Speaking of headgear, I have read in several places that one of HMQ's head scarves was attached to the saddle on Emma the pony yesterday. I have tried to find a photo of that without success. If it's true it's another sweet and charming gesture.

NiqueNique · 20/09/2022 22:00

Yes that’s correct. It’s hard to see, though. It’s draped over the saddle.

It was me, the article I read implied it wasn't known whether it was still in one piece and might just be tucked away. It said if they had been sold, gifted or broken up. There was another rather fab one that was broken up and used in part to make the girls of great Britain tiara so I was hopeful! Such a shame if it is no more.

I'm still a bit sad the politmore isn't around to be worn, another that Camilla would rock!

NiqueNique · 20/09/2022 22:02

Such a lovely photo. And the flowers!

Thank you as always @Maireas. It feels like perfect timing for a new thread.

NiqueNique · 20/09/2022 22:04

Yes, it feels right to start anew today.

gluenotsoup · 20/09/2022 22:06

Thank you, @Maireas.
Fresh start all round! I feel a bit out of sorts today 🙁, unexpectedly. So a few sparkles will be in order 👑👑

Maireas · 20/09/2022 22:08

I know what you mean. Yesterday was extraordinary in so many ways, not least because it's a turning point.
