Loving those MHL trousers on you @faustina. I agree that the second pair aren’t as good as the first. What is sizing like? Are they neat of waist?

@ScottishMouse - they aren't as neat as the toast non-elasticated ones! - or at least they seem to be more comfortable - maybe they hit in a different place?

These are both an XS which I think is an 8. Still trying to make up my mind as they are a BIG chunk of my clothing budget!

Those ones with the turn ups are beautiful. They really suit you. I couldn’t part with them if I were you, Faustina.

Popped into a Toast shop today.
Very quiet and extremely cold

The side tab pinafore looks nice and there is a lovely A-line khaki skirt that I cant see on the website.
Bit the bullet and tried on size 10 Gabis, still too big on the waist but too tight across the bum so will take in the size 12s on the waist.

Tried on the Alix trousers in a size 10- assistant informed me they had a dropped crotch, comfortable and a lovely fit but there was a strange bulge of fabric around the crotch
No matter how I tried to adjust them it looked strange and just bulged at the front.
It was too cold to try on size 12, my feet were white by this point.
I think the 12s will be too big.
The fabric is lovely.

I have sent the last of my sale purchases back , and I have also been having a jolly good clear up, putting away all the washed laundry and other stuff that I took away and didn't wear , and generally having a sort out..

I seem to have Everything in every colour!! ,especially jumpers tees , shirts, trousers , so I -Have- to stop buying any more!!

Its a bit late for any NYRs but I am going to try and not buy anything else at least until the Summer stuff comes out ..

I' ll need to be strong, especially , if i keep reading you Toasties posts !!

...and so many pairs of socks and knickers .. I reckon that if I was to wear a pair of each and then binned them straight after , they'd last me at least half a year!

I wore them for a bit, then tried on two other pairs of trousers which were never quite right but which I had bought to achieve the same kind of effect (one toast, one kin), reassured myself that they were definitely more comfortable than either, and I think look better, and have boxed up the other pair ready to send them back. I will have to make a point of wearing them all the time now!

@TempleofZooom - that sounds like a bleak shopping experience! I'm not sure which is worse - shopping on a very hot day or a very cold one. Both pretty unpleasant! It is so much nicer to see things in the flesh though. What a shame about the bulge in the Alix trousers. I wonder why? My linen ones sort of droop out at the back (a kind of half hearted bulge) but I ignore

It was nicer than the picture.
Also the tie neck shirt comes up large huge
Size 10 on the rail looked like it would swamp me.

It was colder in the shop than it was outside.
A pleasant 8/9 degrees here but freezing in the shop.
The bulge was the crotch.
If you can imagine trousers that fitted well on the waist, hips and bottom, nicely tapered legs but with a crotch bulge .
Im long in the body so maybe that was it.
I would be embarrassed to wear them.
I would be interested to hear how others get on.
They are nice trousers but not on me!

A package arrived today: the sale stripe cotton PJ shirt, the new Vale shirt and the tie neck chambrey shirt. They are all keepers: will report back in more detail later as going into an evening meeting at work.

Yes the side tab pinafore is £180. I forgot to say I also saw the tangerine wrap dress and there was a skirt in the same fabric. Not for me, it was very slinky and something about the feel of cupro makes me shudder slightly.

So, the sale striped cotton PJ shirt (the one with the ties down the front): I had looked at it online a thousand times and didn't like it but uit slowly grew on me and I ordered the 10 and the 12. It looks really nice on, love the gathered bracelet sleeves and it is a keeper. Both sizes fit but I thnk I may go with the 12 to allow for stretching and also wearing it as a jacket.

The tie neck chambrey shrit: thanks for the tip at the weekend re size - ordered in a 10 which is plenty big enough. It is a lovely blue with texture to the fabric and can be dressed up or down.

The Vale shirt - when I took it out of the bag I thought how dull it looked but once on it felt transformed. I love the colllar and the button up to the top. I ordered a 10 and a 12 for fit, will probably go with the 10 for the neater fit but I will dry clean it as I would be petrified of it shrinking. It is a really lovely pattern in real life: not vibrant but very striking.

Now i have the Tattersall check cotton pintuck blouse in my basket - must stop shopping sales stuff....

Your trousers look lovely @faustina, definitely the right choice to keep. Bulging crotch Alix trousers are a worry, I just ordered the brown pair in the sale to try - I suspect they might be too big but thought it was worth a punt

Yes, the way you've described it @TempleofZooom - sounds as if it might be a fault with the trousers. Horrible - and not normal for Alix trousers at all.

I’d quite like if the sale finished up. I am constantly just taking a quick look to see if anything else has popped up! 🙄

@ToastCosILoveIt I can recommend the Tattersall top. It’s a beautiful colour and I really love mine. Good weight of fabric too. I was glad I popped up be in my sale basket.
