I can picture it now. Group of friends leaving the pub during winter, and then there's that one friend who'll be all "Hang on! I need to weave my mock collar into my collarless, hoodless coat, which, despite the season, I chose to wear. Bear with..."

I'm wtfing at the price. You can buy an all polyester padded coat for that sort of money.

I like how it looks! I try to squeeze a thermoball under some of my smart wool coats and it always looks too bulky. But this would still be cold because it's not really a coat.

If it was a different colour I’d be in danger of considering it.

I like it and have considered buying it recently, though not in the orange colour as it wouldn't suit me but that collar/hood would look great inside a khaki coat.

I have a thinner version of this in navy, also from Cos. Its just a hood that I put on first and then my coat. Its very useful when its raining. It doesn't look as good as the padded one linked in this thread though.

Well, this is a solution to the 50 million winter coats with no hood- what's the point of them.

Not that I'd wear it as I imagine I'd look like a Dementor that's going to prison.

I saw lots of variations on this while out shopping today. I thought it was an amazing idea! A portable hood, for all of those hoodless coats and jackets. I'm not sure about the orange colour or the price tag of this one though!

I really like this too, not in orange mind you.

I’ve been knitting and crocheting variations of this for years. Much warmer than a scarf in harsh winter weather and much more practical for children.

Not for me! If I wanted a hood I’d just buy a coat with a hood. Which you could get for the same price of this half a coat.

I’m starting to sound old I’m afraid. Memories of my auntie asking me why I would pay full price for jeans that already had holes in when I could buy a pair with no holes for that price.
