I've placed my first Stitch Fix order!
trevigirl · 22/03/2021 14:44
Been thinking of trying this for a while, as I've felt in need of some style inspiration.
My parcel is due for delivery on 3rd April, but I think I get to know what's in it before that: I've said that I'd like a Spring dress for upcoming pub lunches.
Excited now.
@Triffid1 I wondered the same about the stylists but, with my first box, she responded to my notes on a very personal level and again on the comments which arrived with the box. She absolutely listened to my notes on the preview and chose well with the switches as a result. I’ve requested her for the second box. Very much hoping she is a real person!
Mine is Kim. Maybe we should share names of stylists. Get the good ones recognised!

I tried stitch fix when they first began styling for women a few years ago.
The box they sent me was awful, it's as if they'd ignored my brief and sent any old crap that didn't even fit! I sent it back really unhappy and a bit insulted!
Having read this I've placed an order in the hopes they've improved. I've been as detailed as possible but I'm not holding my breath!
unforgotten23 · 24/03/2021 16:05
I've tried it, I thought they just looked at my age (maybe not even that) abs my size and just sent out whatever crap they had bought in cheap.
I returned all of it, re-wrote my description of myself to help them, the next few boxes were exactly the same.
A tip if you do like the stuff they send you is to check online you can't buy it at sale prices because they seem to buy old/sake stock. I actually think this I'd good to reduce waste, but I would prefer to get the sale discount passed onto the customer.

I have checked this with a number of items and it's never been available elsewhere cheaper. On one occasion, I kept a close eye out for months as I really liked the shirt but couldn't justify the £55 price tag (Mint Velvet). Irritatingly, when Mint Velvet did have a sale, that shirt wasn't on it.

Very hit and miss for me. I kept 2 items from the first box and 1 from the second. Out of the 3 things i kept i really quite like 2 of them and the other is so so. Nothing ground breaking. I was hoping for less mundane items of clothing, things that i would never dream of going near in a shop, like a leather jacket or something. Maybe if you're into clothes and confident enough to be very prescriptive in what you want in each box it's better.

Well I have jumped on the band wagon, also delivering 3rd April... I have added so many notes and done the style shuffle thing until it told me to go away! Apparently I can shuffle more tomorrow so I might go back and do more in the hope it helps! My style has totally gone since my weight shifted a few years back. I now live in boots and jeans, I need shaking up.
Here's my code if anyone else wants to try!

Weirdly, I just realised I'm clothed Olin stuff from my first two Stitch Fix orders. I'm a nightmare to buy for as I'm very short and fat. I'm wearing a pair of their jeans which fit perfectly and a lovely soft grey top. I've kept 3 items from 2 boxes and could have kept more but was mindful of costs!
bonfireheart · 24/03/2021 17:09
I wish it asked you to upload a full length pic on yourself, front on and from the side.
The style shuffle annoys me "is this your style?" Well the reason why I'm here is because I need help with my style!! So if I usually wear long cardigans, do I click 'yes' on them and then they'll send me more long cardigans?! The whole point is I want them to push me out of my comfort zone not more of what I already have!
Yodeldodeldo · 24/03/2021 17:18
I'm a 16 bottom and 18 top and find stitch fix stuff fits me well, some 18 tops I've sent back for 16s. I'm receiving my 4th box soon and have kept about 80% of stuff they sent me. The boxes get better with time. The first box was the least to my taste, but still much better than the first attempt from lookiero.

@40metres
I don't think services like StitchFix are for truly fashion forward types nor is it going to do more than ever-so-slightly push you out of your comfort zone. For me, who is not a fashion person, that works. But if I wanted someone to help me get a bit more cutting edge, I think I'd go elsewhere.

I’m waiting for my third box to arrive
I kept 2 items from my first box, I found a dress I never knew I needed with pockets too!
I kept all of my 2nd box, one of the items was a bit off but the discount given if you keep all items was worth it, I passed the unwanted item on to my sister.
It has given me a few brands I didn’t know about and have now looked on their websites and found some great new styles.
I like to log in and do the style shuffle quiz!
My code is

Which will give you and me £15 off!
EffYouSeeKaye · 25/03/2021 19:42
I got my preview yesterday. It had 10 items in it - not sure it had quite that many last time 🤔 Anyway I accepted three (one of which I had specifically asked for in my previous notes) and gave a lot of new notes again. Will see what happens. Last time I kept the whole lot.
Here’s my code should anyone want one... (That’s like the tag line of this thread 😂)

Got my preview over the weekend and easily selected five items - in fact eight of the ten pieces looked good - box coming next week. Stylist is Natasha. I don’t have massive expectations but am excited to try them on.
My issue is short legs and I don’t know what their petite range is like.
Chrispackhamspoodle · 27/03/2021 07:29
I got my 2nd box yesterday and kept all of it.2 beautiful dresses,a pair of joules fitted black trousers/ leggings which i would never have tried in the shops but are amazing on and 2 tops. It's good for me as I'm rubbish at buying the basics.. so I have great skirts and dresses but no tops to go with them as they look boring in the shop so I don't buy them. The two tops I would have walked by but they look great on and go with loads of my clothes .And the dresses are great quality and really gorgeous...their own brand I think.I've asked not to be sent footwear or coats as I like buying that myself.
40metres · 28/03/2021 08:26
Had my preview a couple of days back. Not impressed. I had said in the notes I'd like some summer dresses that i only wore mid calf length and only a shirt type neck line or v neck. There were 5 dresses, 2 of them mini dresses, the rest round neck. A couple of half decent t shirts. We'll see what they send!
Youtrustthefridge · 28/03/2021 11:00
I’m on my 14th box! I love stitch fix. I always check the prices online before I commit to buying anything, normally I keep one or two pieces. I’ve had the same stylist - Roxy for about 6 months. She’s lovely and we have little chats in the comments sections.. for example I told her I went to the dentist fully kitted out in a fancy outfit because it was the only place I had been in months! It’s a bit of a tradition now when the box arrives - I do a fashion show for my husband and DD6 we all yay or nay the clothes, then anything that needs to be sent back goes straight back via a Hermes locker down the road. So simple and great fun!
Gice · 28/03/2021 11:28
I should be getting my second box next week. I wasn’t overly impressed with the first box (only kept one thing) but thought I’d give them another go. They had obviously listened to my notes and tried to fulfil them but a lot of it wasn’t quite right. I’m very fussy though and quite tight so although I liked some of the other items I didn’t think they were worth the price tag!
