If its not perfect, it will go back.

@BerniceBobsHerHair I love the green check dress on you. I had a major crush on that dress as soon as it arrived at Toast. I couldn’t justify the price so just spent a lot of time looking at it. Then Marion Keyes wore it on her Twitter/IG and I loved it even more. Finally decided to order it with 20 per cent off at JL, then when it arrived the fabric wasn’t as I’d imagined and it looked awful on me Sad I was very sad (all over a dress, tragic I know) I do hope you decide to keep it as on you it looks like I had imagined it would on me Grin

AmethystMoonShine · 16/01/2021 06:55

I weakened last night (after a couple of glasses of fizz) and ordered the sleeveless linen dress with waist ties in Olive. There were only 3 left in my size and I ‘panicked’Grin
It will need to be very special though for me to keep it as I have spent enough. I’m hoping it will be a good summer dress or spring with a cardigan if it’s warm enough. I’ve got a pair of Seasalt sandals (well I have lots of pairs to be fair) in Olive which I think will look nice if not I have tan which will go, or black or maybe claret? Anyway, I think I’ll be okay for footwear.

I love that dress. I didn't think I would suit it though but would be very interested in how you get on when it arrives.
ilovecherries · 16/01/2021 09:24

The actual denim shirt dress (the one that does completely unbutton) appeared back in stock about 1am, so fired by the knowledge that RM does residential pick ups I ordered it and will send the other one back.

That’s a lovely dress. Had they had it in navy or black I’d have been very tempted. Look forward to seeing it.

Delave linen trousers in XS are a perfect fit.. Longer than I thought that they would be, but will be great for summer.. I hope that yours arrive ok Faustina

Your outfit looks really lovely @Laska2Meryls - chilled, relaxed and chic, what more can you ask?!

Thanks, Saurus! 🤭

My JL bargains arrived.
Indigo Denim V neck dress size 12.
Absolutely lovely dress, midcalf, fitted waist and the cut skims over my big bum beautifully.
Its wide over the shoulders but I have wide ones so sits really nicely.I can see it might not suit the narrow of shoulder though.
The Wool/ Cotton Textured Stripe Jumper is nice ,£45 nice but not £160 nice.
Its similar quality to Seasalt jumpers which come in around £65 and the Small fits me well.
Lovely long sleeves.Smile

Countmeout · 16/01/2021 14:32

Aren’t they lovely @Laska2Meryls. Great outfit.
Has yours arrived @faustina ?
Mine had been ironed up about an inch when they came, helps with the length although my first thought was to iron them back down. .
Sounds good @Templetree, I love long sleeves too.

faustina · 16/01/2021 14:51

For some reason I haven't been able to add photos on Mumsnet from my laptop for a couple of weeks. Has anyone else had that problem? Anyway - doing this on my phone ... this is the striped jumper which is the biggest small ever , but I really love it!

ilovecherries · 16/01/2021 15:00

Jumper looks lovely on you faustina. That’s what I felt as well - great jumper for the £40 I paid in the dimmer sale, but would have sent it back (or more likely never bought it in the first place!) at full price.

faustina · 16/01/2021 15:01

These are the delave trousers which I think I'm too short for - they just look like unspecified baggy cloth on me - I have some very similar slate linen cotton trousers from toast which are slightly tapered so look and hang better on me when rolled up

faustina · 16/01/2021 15:06

... the jumper in the previous pic and here too - I can't describe how much I love it - so hard to show with my shit mirror and the shit light! The shape of the shoulders is so flattering - I notice they have repeated in some of their new stuff - also the neckline

@Templetree and @Countmeout - I love long sleeves too - it feels wrong somehow when one can't pull one's sleeves down over one's hands. I just sold a Brora cardigan I never wore on eBay because it had three quarter sleeves - luckily to a delighted person who couldn't bear long sleeves!
I don't think I'd have paid full price for the striped jumper either, but it's beautiful - also light, but very warm!

faustina · 16/01/2021 15:13

oops - the very dark navy jumper in the pics is the Fishermans jumper!

Countmeout · 16/01/2021 15:20

What jumper is that @faustina ? You answered this while I was typing, oops!
As for the Delaves I am short too but see myself wearing them with sandals or trainers. To me they’re a summer trouser Have you tried all your footwear options?

Are you the Toastie with Reynauds?
I have it too and 3/4 doesnt get a look in over here !

faustina · 16/01/2021 15:36

@Templetree - yes I do have Reynauds! But very oddly I hadn't really connected the two (reynauds/the urge to pull my sleeves over my hands) - totally makes sense now!

It's driving me mad with the pandemic because I can't take my gloves off in the winter when I go to the supermarket - fingers go white in seconds - so I end up wiping my very expensive cashmere lined leather gloves with anti-bag wipes after each visit, and I often get looks from people when I don't sanitise my hands at the entrance to shops

faustina · 16/01/2021 15:43

@Countmeout - I tried low clogs and mid height clogs, and I tried rolling up the legs a bit, but I think they're really too wide for that. I made the same mistake with the lovely wide leg indigo denim trousers in the summer - they just looked awful on me. It's been a useful lesson in what suits my shape (which I should have learned with the denim trousers!)

The linen Alix and the cotton linen slate trousers from the summer which popped up on JL a few days ago are both slightly tapered and look fine. I should stick to that shape in future. They looked great on you and Laska!

I wear leather gloves, wipe them and rotate the pairs Ive got.
