Hello all Toasties , a new Toast thread for us to discuss clothes and life..

Here's to new beginnings and a more hopeful Spring when we can get out and wear our lovely things.

@BerniceBobsHerHair - that thread was brilliant - lots of links for brands I hadn't heard of!

Laska2Meryls · 13/01/2021 19:35

Were you successful Faustina? Mine have just been despatched.. Grin
Do we think that there will be further reductions?

OP posts:
Saurus72 · 13/01/2021 19:48

I hope there are further reductions. There are a couple more dresses I’d like but I don’t want to pay a huge amount tbh.

This looks lovely but still too expensive: www.toa.st/uk/product/all+sale/c1pfa/bloom+print+wrap+dress.htm

Quite fancy this, worn with a shirt underneath, could look quite chic I think: www.toa.st/uk/product/all+sale/c1pfh/silk+velvet+sleeveless+dress.htm

I think if they were around £70-ish I’d press the button.

AmethystMoonShine · 13/01/2021 19:54

Just tried on my Anya cord shirt in blue. Not sure if I’ll keep it. It’s lovely but doesn’t really go with much I have. Not in terms of colour but the cut. It’s maybe too big? It’s not very flattering on me... hmmmm? Hard to return some an item I like a lot,.. but I’m not sure I’ll actually wear it Confused

Laska2Meryls · 13/01/2021 20:11

Both dresses nice but yes still pricey, Saurus.. I'd go for the orange stripe linen tee if it were reduced, but £40 is a lot!

mizu · 13/01/2021 20:57

I like Olive Clothing too.

faustina · 13/01/2021 21:14

@Laska2Meryls - I was successful in the same way that I was successful last time: they took my money and sent me an order acknowledgement. I'll believe it when I see the despatch email! Looking forward to seeing yours in the meantime!

parttimepunk · 13/01/2021 21:27

@mizu thank you for link to Olive clothing. I'd not heard of them and now I want aallllllll the dresses.

Craftycorvid · 13/01/2021 21:32

Ah, happy new thread! So, the indigo jumpsuit arrived and....it fits! Size 6 ffs - my usual size would be vast. Toast really do go large it seems. Actually looks a bit better worn in a more fitted style - avoids looking like I’ve come to service the boiler. DH thinks I’m going for ARP warden chic! Grin. Thinking of styling with a long sleeved tee underneath and my fake fur jacket on top. And socially distanced high five to anyone re-living their teens! Mine were, in reality, a bit rubbish so it’s nice to be playful now.

mizu · 13/01/2021 21:52

parttimepunk they have amazing (but not that often) sales too but sell out super fast.

Their knitwear is good.

ToastCosILoveIt · 14/01/2021 10:33

Hello lovely fellow Toast fans. The cotton sateen button through dress: I assume it comes up large?

Enjoying all your purchases and chats.
I had some success in the Toast sale, ordered the velvet pencil trousers in navy and black, they both went back because they are not doing much for me.
I have kept the dogtooth wool trousers, they are so warm and soft, but I have to be careful how I style them, they can go into the frumpy territory easily.

Managed to bagsy this short in the JL sale this morning www.johnlewis.com/toast-jakob-stripe-cotton-shirt-blue/p5086492?sku=238673869&size=8&s_ppc=2dx92700055665259136&tmad=c&tmcampid=2&gclid=Cj0KCQiA9P__BRC0ARIsAEZ6iri7TQT7B7fRfg4W6ykqnkzxuwqhadMOLuajrnnO3nGkOlBQud7TndYaAvoNEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
It's labelled as Jacob, but I think it's a Sadie (still full price on the Toast website). Size 8 was all they have left, really hoping that it fits large and I get to keep it.

luggageandbags · 14/01/2021 11:07

Shirt not short

Laska2Meryls · 14/01/2021 11:24

I resisted this morning .. but given what I have already bought I cannot say that I have much of a halo though!!

Bernice have ordered the same indigo shirt dress from the sale and am keeping it. It's great quality thick denim and really comfy but yet smart at the same time. Would love to hear how you get on with it. Am wearing Gabi wool trousers today and a hush green jumper, cosy and comfy for working in this dreary weather.

luggageandbags · 14/01/2021 12:15

@applecatchers36 I love the Gabis on you, I ordered and returned the cord ones, looked too rectangular at the waist and hips and then legs were too narrow and it was all disproportional. I wonder if I should try to size up...

If anyone has the Sadie/Jakob shirt please let me know re sizing, I'm combusting with excitement and don't want to get my hopes up if it's likely to be too small. I'm a 10 in most clothes, pretty flat chested and average shoulders.

NoCureForLove · 14/01/2021 13:42

Probably too late Toast by way if reply - that dress you linked too is small across thd chest, voluminous everywhere else...

Saurus72 · 14/01/2021 15:59

Final reductions in Toast sale, though they’re barely noticeable. I bought the dress that I’ve been drooling over since I first saw it - I will need to love it to keep it as I have no actual need for another dress (this is my 4th Toast sale dress 😬). www.toa.st/uk/product/all+sale/c1pfa/bloom+print+wrap+dress.htm

faustina · 14/01/2021 17:09

.. and some things added to JL from the summer. I've ordered this jumper textured stripe jumper. Does anyone have it?

faustina · 14/01/2021 17:10

@Saurus72 - it's very pretty - can see why you'd buy it, even if totally unnecessary !

Saurus72 · 14/01/2021 17:14

Ha! The misery of January in lockdown is spurring me on...

Laska2Meryls · 14/01/2021 17:59

Saurus that is a lovely dress and timeless.. youll soon be able to wear it out (fingeres crossed)
Pleased because I ordered the line stripe T shirt this morning on a whim and Toast have refunded t me £8 as its now down in price.. (I had to ask though, not automatic)
Nothing else I have ordered had been reduced further as far as I can see

OP posts:
AmethystMoonShine · 14/01/2021 18:08

That’s a disappointment. Barely noticeable reductions. I think they’ve reduced by the same percentages as usual but because their prices have risen so much a lot of things feel pricey for sale dregs. Ah well happy bank account Grin

AmethystMoonShine · 14/01/2021 18:09

Meant to say, yes lovely dress @Saurus72 I’ve been eyeing the green version but I can’t justify it! Hope it looks lovely on you.

You’re tempting me saurus!
I don’t know whether to order the 10 or the 12 though, sometimes the bust fits and sometimes it doesn’t. Wish Toast would sort their sizing out grrrrr.....
