@BerniceBobsHerHair ah that dress is lovely, I’ve been considering it for months (ever since I saw it on Marian Keyes’ Instagram feed!) but I have similar reservations to you. But my fear is of looking like a cowgirl. I just thought that for me, it wouldn’t be a dress ‘workhorse’ and I would only wear it occasionally so I haven’t ordered it. It looks really good on you and I didn’t think tablecloth at all.

ilovecherries · 15/01/2021 12:39

@BerniceBobsHerHair

I think cor might be Australian. They are on the young British designers website which is also worth a look. So.my green ine dress arrived. I like the shape but not sure if the print is a bit too 'table cloth' irl. Does anyone have it? I will attach a few photos for honest feedback Grin
I have the shirt in the same fabric. Just arrived today and I am standing in my mums garage (loooong back story to that 🤣) trying to decide if I look like Annie Oakley.

Ooh Laska what colour? I've just managed to get one in the beige colour, it has eluded me for days...size S too

@BerniceBobsHerHair - that check dress looks much nocer on you than it did on me. It just was too loud for me and a bit too acid green - which surprised me as I usually suit bold things. I sent mine back. I also thought how often could I wear it without being 'that woman in that green dress'.

I am waiting on yet more sale deliveries - I have bought lots, sent back most of it and kept a few great things. All most enjoyable when there is little to be had by way of entertainment and novelty...

Gonegrey31 · 15/01/2021 18:14

Laska no from the Toast website. Thrilled! Small pleasures during these difficult days .

Countmeout · 15/01/2021 18:21

@BerniceBobsHerHair, yet another coat , I have a major problem buying coats. I think I’m a coataholic. Think it’s a summer 19 one possibly, green with hood, I did wonder if it was from someone on here 🙊 . It’s a perfect fit and length for coming into spring. In my defence I sell coats I no longer wear fairly regularly.
I like the green checked dress but felt it might be too memorable in a small place. It’s a good fit for you and a lovely shape. It doesn’t look as green in your photo as it looks online.

Templetree · 15/01/2021 18:36

The green check dress is lovely but I fear it would wear me not the other way round.
I saw a young woman wearing it in the summer, she was tall and slim with blonde/ auburny tumbling curls, beautiful face and she had the classic socks/ brogues combo and a bag slung across.
Stunning.
I wonder if it was one of you?

mizu · 15/01/2021 18:41

I bought a pair of TOAST dungarees from eBay last week which arrived this week. Love them. Put them on and they just feel amazing.

Watching a couple of (ok 5) jumpers on there, a couple are the ones with the kimono sleeves as I really regret selling mine last winter.

faustina · 15/01/2021 19:15

@BerniceBobsHerHair - that dress looks fantastic on you! It looked awful on me when I tried it. I think you should keep it. You could always wear a cardigan or a jumper to change it a bit so it wasn't quite so obvious? Navy maybe? I remember there was a great pic on John Lewis of a model with long grey hair wearing it layered in some way - she looked amazing too

ilovecherries · 15/01/2021 19:15

@Laska2Meryls

Yes, that's the one. They didn't have a 12 so I took the 14 and while its loose its not terribly big. Its the kind of cotton that will just get softer with every wash. Having said that, I'm not totally convinced yet! I can't go to the PO though because of shielding dad just now, so it would have to take it's chance in a post box if it goes back. Will probably end up keeping it.

More problematic is the short sleeved denim shirt dress. Now by definition I thought a shift dress buttoned all the way down, but due to my assumption and the crappy toast photos I didn't realise that it only buttons half way down the chest. I really wanted to have the option to wear it open. At £90 I don't really want to post it without proof of posting, but I'm not sure if I like it. With the belt it gives me massive hips (which I actually don't have), and without the belt it's very (very) A line.

faustina · 15/01/2021 19:19

The Fishermans jumper arrived in a medium and it's lovely! Really fitted - a small, which I was searching for would be too fitted for me I think

I also picked up the striped jumper from John Lewis in a small and that's way bigger but still really nice - think I'll keep that one too

I would really recommend both if anyone's after another jumper - size down in the striped one and up in the fisherman!

Templetree · 15/01/2021 19:19

@ilovecherries.
I tried that denim dress on in the Toast shop and was so disappointed.
It stuck out on the hips like a tent and was so heavy .

Gonegrey31 · 15/01/2021 19:35

I have sent that denim dress back Ilovecherries because it was too heavy and bulky on me. I also thought it would be no good as a holiday dress ( if I ever go on holiday ever again) because it would take up too much room in a suitcase.
Re posting back - could you get someone queuing up to send your parcel for you while you wait outside for the proof of postage? People seem very willing to help if they know you don’t want to enter a shop . Could a neighbour take it alternatively?

NoCureForLove · 15/01/2021 19:40

Which of the 3? 4? denim dresses in the sale are you all talking about?

@ilovecherries - I think Hermes would also collect - you can do it all online as well.

ilovecherries · 15/01/2021 20:33

Ooh, thank you templetree, you’ve opened up loads more ‘cheer yourself up’ shopping opportunities. I didn’t realise RM did residential pick-ups. I’ve been trying only to buy from places that do Courier returns to get home collection but now the world is my oyster 😀

Gonegrey31 · 15/01/2021 20:41

I mean the “indigo denim
Belted shirt dress”, with buttons only to the waist . It is a lovely dress but just not on me as I’m pear shaped . I also thought the weight of the material was too heavy for me but that’s just a personal preference.

I couldnt believe how heavy it was. Zero drape hence the tent comment. Yes Ive got hips but not that big !
Fortherosesjoni70 · 15/01/2021 21:19

I really like the check dress on you but although i like the colour combo, for me, it was a bit too much and i dislike the ruffling detail@BerniceBobsHerHair although on you it looks great! Unfortunately for me, being in the teaching profession these dresses make me feel very much an old school marm.
I ordered the silk PJ top in ochre A real treat for me. So bloody expensive but i just love love love the print and machine washable silk. Whats not to love? Anyone have it? Bought it with a pair of gabi's in dark charcoal.
