@ifwisheswerefishes - I do think she checks on his moods too. But I always feel it's because if anything, she's a bit irritated that he is less engaged with activities and things.
She really does strike me as a very responsible person. So she might not be naturally inclined to all this attention or the stuff she does, but she just gets on with it and does it because it needs to be done and so she does it to the best of her ability (I feel she probably gets that trait from her mother!). So suspect she's not terribly sympathetic to William if he's being a bit whiney!
