Great title!
Today’s outfit looks like she’s wearing herself back into coat dresses.
I hope her outfits on this trip have an influence on her future style in the UK

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 18/10/2019 13:12

*weaning, not wearing

SenecaFalls · 18/10/2019 13:14

@QueenOfTheAndals It was the DofG when Charles was born. Margaret was just 18 so not old enough to be regent. The Act was amended in 1953 to make Philip regent during the minority of Charles so Margaret was the designated regent for only a short time.

RainbowsAndGlitterAndUnicorns · 18/10/2019 13:17

QueenOfTheAndals your sari was beautiful!

TokyoSushi · 18/10/2019 13:23

Don't love Kate's outfit today but I think she's had a really good tour. She looks happy, relaxed and beautiful yet professional. I have to admit she's my favourite royal though.

BlingLoving · 18/10/2019 13:27

Aaah, interesting Seneca. So realistically, if Charles/William/Kate did decide that they wanted Kate to be regent IF necessary, they'd have to write that into law either while Charles was king or even only after William takes the throne?

Even more reason for Harry not to worry about it or use that possibility as part of his decision making.

whitershadeofpale · 18/10/2019 13:41

Talk of Max being Dutch not Argentinian reminded me, did Meghan become a British citizen in the end? I know she said she was beginning the process when she got engaged. Is Archie entitled to duel-citizenship?

BlingLoving · 18/10/2019 13:46

I still haven't figured out which princess is which but the one wearing the white dress with the jacket over is particularly pretty and I love what she's wearing.

QueenOfTheAndals · 18/10/2019 13:57

@BlingLoving the taller Princess is actually the younger one, Sofia. The other is the future monarch Leonor.

Bling I think the Regency Act could be amended at any time, but there would be no reason to do it unless the next heir is a minor. That's what happened when Elizabeth became Queen. So it would likely be done in the event that William becomes King before George turns 18.

whitershadeofpale · 18/10/2019 14:04

I've just seen a clip that's been released with Meghan saying that it's been a struggle, with her voice cracking. I think she's had it rough but I really think she's gone about it the wrong way. She should take a leaf from Camilla's books and quietly get on with it and play the long game. They'll be Bashir/ Dimbleby style interviews next and it will just be ripe for parody.

megletthesecond · 18/10/2019 14:25

I've just watched the clip of Meghan talking to Tom Bradby and I want to hug her. Poor soul.
Also, I do wonder what is kept out of the press, how many intrusions and security alerts there are that we don't hear about. That would shred most peoples nerves.

hopeishere · 18/10/2019 14:35

I also have huge doubts about this documentary. What do they hope to gain? Public sympathy? Understanding?

And again the comparisons with Kate will continue. It will be pointed out that she managed to grin and bear it in early days of being married to William without needing to "run to the press sobbing" It also seems that they're happy to use the press when they want to and are quick to turn when the coverage is not what they want.

whitershadeofpale · 18/10/2019 14:51

I think the timing of the releases looks bad too, deflecting from the Pakistan tour, which hasn't had as many headlines as previous ones. A documentary just focusing on the good work they're doing and how important the royals are to international relations, showing them interacting well with others and just getting on with it would have done them the world of good. Instead this just feeds into the idea that they're dramatic hypocrites (hating the press while using it to their advantage).

Other royals that have managed to turn things around have done it by being good-humoured and diligent, not by complaining-even when they have every right to do so!

TottieandMarchpane · 18/10/2019 14:56

They'll be Bashir/ Dimbleby style interviews next and it will just be ripe for parody.

No way are the Royals going to allow themselves to be dragged down that road again. Surely someone is going to put a stop to this now?

I wonder if there’s a bit of a power vacuum at the top with the Queen now semi retired?

TottieandMarchpane · 18/10/2019 15:00

The Spanish royals are really very colour coordinated in that photo?

Is that shade of apricot in? I haven’t been shopping in months, but I do like that as a autumn or spring transitional colour. A trench coat that colour would be lovely.

BubblesBuddy · 18/10/2019 15:17

Do the wives of Muslim heads of state wear western clothes when they visit us? Or are they not allowed to visit at all? Why do our royals have to show deference? Surely they could wear what they like and be true to their origins instead of pretending to adopt a culture?

Amanduh · 18/10/2019 15:20

Who the hell is advising Meghan and Harry? This is another poor move and it won’t sit well with the public, interviewed by their mate whilst she tears up about how hard things have been. I don’t doubt some of it isn’t pleasant, but I really don’t think this is going to go well.

BigGlassesMessyBun · 18/10/2019 15:26

I thought I loved Leti's grey wrap dress but it seems to be denim up close. Hmm.

Rania definitely goes more Western in the West and covers up back home.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 18/10/2019 15:30

Do you think anyone is advising them? I'm not sure that's the case. The best people in terms of understanding the territory would be William and Kate but that's clearly not happening.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 18/10/2019 15:33

This is so odd. Why are they releasing a documentary. That seems so so bizarre.

I really can’t see this going well.....

SenecaFalls · 18/10/2019 15:33

Other royals that have managed to turn things around have done it by being good-humoured and diligent, not by complaining-even when they have every right to do so!

Other royals have not been subjected to racist bullying. All of this "they just need to be quiet and carry on" does sometimes have a bit of blame the victim vibe.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 18/10/2019 15:36

The Spanish princesses always look gorgeous, I particularly like the unfussiness of their styling. I'd like to see Lady Louise in something similar, taking into account that she is slightly older and might want a more grown up twist.

I'm not a fan of Leti's style tbh so for me they outshine her.

whitershadeofpale · 18/10/2019 15:43

@SenecaFalls not racist, no. But equally unfounded at times, particularly Sarah Ferguson. I don't think it's victim blaming to acknowledge that they've handled things badly at times and even though the press has been awful at times they seem to want them on side. If that's the case then they can't have it both ways.
