PS Also have a rather snazzy leopard print cardigan with me #mutton Grin

Judydreamsofhorses · 25/08/2018 19:11

SOTD is Caldey Island Lavender. Today has been lolling around, horrible period pain.

Feel better soon, aubergine, and enjoy Edinburgh as best you can. DP went to Edinburgh University, so we go often.

I quite like Ange au Demon, it is one of those I apply in store but never bother buying.

SotD is Tokyo Milk Dead Sexy, which is lovely but does not last long. Good job it was cheap in TKMaxx.

Talking TKMaxx they have a few ETAT LIBRE D'ORANGE including Eau de Protection [[https://www.tkmaxx.com/uk/en/search/?text=etat]]

Had to jazz it up this evening with Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon.

Have, have to break into MG Fire soon.

I may have got married in leopard print boots, Grin with Norman Hartnell of course.

MrsLucas · 26/08/2018 08:38

Thanks Pest. That sounds a truly fabulous ensemble.

Still kicking myself for not nabbing one of those fabulous 3 x 30 ml sets from the start of the year (Jasmin et Cigarette, Divin Enfant, Putain des Palaces).

The thing I'm most tempted by at TK M right now is Yatagan. My decant is running low.

MrsLucas · 26/08/2018 09:30

Scents of the day come from the back of the cupboard: Insense and Choc. Not a great pairing as the aldehyde-boosted opening of Choc needs to be kept right away from the subtleties of Insense (LT discusses its masculine floral categorisation, but that's a bit misleading. It's a smokey, woody-shrubby wonder).

Arrived back in London to a dark, cold, wet night. Shock to the system! In pjs in bed and wearing Samsara. That’s better 😆

cloud1183 · 27/08/2018 11:19

Hi guys, I’ve ordered a PP dupe of molecule 01 as I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a perfume that I apparently can’t smell. I just wondered if anyone had any experience of using this and whether it’s really true that you can’t smell it but others can? If it’s really that good then I’ll splash out on a genuine bottle

MrsLucas · 27/08/2018 22:27

Evening All - glad to be back with you after an uncharacteristic foray into the land of the wrong trousers (mine are are apparently desperate and unreasonable Hmm). I will be sticking with Perfumista sheep from now on - Baa!

Hello Cloud - the molecule in question is ISO e super and is widely available on ebay. Katie Puckirk is good on it.

MrsLucas · 27/08/2018 22:28

*Puckrik

Judydreamsofhorses · 27/08/2018 22:35

SOTD Chanel 19. No bank holiday here. ☹️

Judydreamsofhorses · 27/08/2018 22:37

I heart Katie Puckrick. She was doing a show on Six Music the other day and it was utterly joyful. See also: Amy Lame. (Who once came up to me at a Morrissey gig and told me she liked my hair.)

Calmanddance · 28/08/2018 10:35

I love Katie Puckrik’s perfume reviews. I don’t think there are any recent ones, though. Not sure why she stopped, it perhaps life just moved on for her?

SOTD Timbuktu (L’Artisan Parfumeurs). It’s a bit like Kenzo Jungle L’Elephant but not quite so spicy and with the addition of incense and smoke.

CountFosco · 28/08/2018 17:29

SotD in hot Paris: Rose Silence. This worked well on warm days in the UK but disappeared pretty quick here. Maybe I was otherwise distracted by the kids having fun in Jardin du Luxembourg.

SotE for climbing the Eiffel Tower: Paris 1948.

I'm flying the flag for British perfumers!

Snap! SotD: Paris 1948. Pleasingly chalky texture.

MrsLucas · 28/08/2018 20:17

Paris 1948 is still going strong so have topped up with my favourite vintage mossy suede, Empreinte. This is good Smile.

I love L'Elephant and admire Timbuktu Calm. For some reason the dry woods give me a headache in the latter.

SOTD Byredo Gypsy Water. You okay, MrsR?

3TresTrois · 28/08/2018 22:51

SOTD was the new Dior Joy that I tried this morning while buying some bits in Boots.

Booooo-ring. J’Adore reboot. Disappointing is an understatement, although JESUS it’s strong stuff. One spritz lasted into the evening.
