Yes, I have a big bottle, blah. It's lovely - although I will never get through the bottle in my lifetime Grin

Well worth a blind buy when it's so cheap.

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 23/09/2018 11:30

I find L'Aimant has a touch of N5 about it, in the way that bizarrely, Avon Moonwind has a touch of Miss Dior.

I am in vintage Eau du Gucci. Proper Eau du Gucci, the one in the blue/red plastic opaque canister, not the PMing monstrosities that masquerade under the name nowadays. Not sure how much is left in my "bottle", need to start looking out for the very few knocking around on the bay of E

Dd and I tried lots of Acqua di Palma's at Milan Linate. Some very very nice ones indeedy. Not sure the hefty price tag would be justified but they have some lovely perfumes.

Ah! Yes, about time for some Avon talk. Going home to dig out my Alsatian and Swordfish 😀

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 23/09/2018 13:30

And your table lamp, umbrella and fridge-freezer? All randomly containing perfume? Grin The bottles were like some random designer's bad trip!

MrsLucas · 23/09/2018 13:46

Sotd is a sample of Dior joy I got through the post. I like it although it's nothing groundbreaking. I think it could be described as nice and inoffensive; a bit like baby powder. It would be a good perfume for work in my opinion.

SotD x2 Persian Wood and Rapture (vintage Avon). Rapture is exquisite; buttery/plummy like Femme but with the oakmoss ramped up a couple of notches. Persian Wood is more challenging - the opening is rhubarb-tart aldehydes with an animalic undertow (castoreum?), but that whooshes off leaving dry, smoky, spicy woods.

Ollivander84 · 23/09/2018 16:43

SOTD is Clean summer sailing

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 23/09/2018 16:45

SOTD is currently MAry Greenwells Plum. I do really like this, it's so sharp to start with, almost a little acrid but it soon softens and then it's lovely white flowers and a hint of spice and smoke, just very very subtle hints though. very happy to have this in my collection now!

I have 2 lots of Rapture- a spray (normal bottle sadly Sad not a random household object!) and a gift set with talc and soap. Just googling reviews of it and realise my grandmother had the glass container at some point, I think she kept hair grips in it.

I've got a small sample of L'air du temps and every time I wear it I love it more.

SotD Sel de Vetiver. I was going to wear Mrs Gloss Outdoors but got distracted Grin.

PP L'Air du Temps isn't bad. The top notes aren't perfect, initially I thought wtf, but then it settles into its smooth beautiful glory.

I am showered and in vintage L'Aimant. Top notes are like vinegar, but after 10 minutes I am in powdery heaven. I am sure I smell like an "old lady" but quite frankly, don't give a damn....I am also watching An Officer and a Gentleman and musing on what Debra Winger would wear.
